Position Title: School Psychologist Intern 25/26 School Year

Job Summary: The Orono Schools are seeking a doctorate-level internship student to gain experience over an array of psychological services in grades 6-8 for the 2025-2026 school year.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide parent training as appropriate.
- Assess students referred to special education through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices.
- Complete and submit written reports to parents five (5) days prior to the Individualized Education Program (IEP) meeting.
- Participate as an IEP team member in the identification, IEP development, and placement of students with disabilities in special education.
- Maintain case records on students.
- Recommend evidence-based intervention strategies and programming.
- Collaborate with schools to provide data-based interventions for identified students.
- Confer with teachers, parents, various agencies, and professionals as appropriate regarding the education and social/emotional needs of identified students.
- Interpret assessment data for parents, teachers, staff, and others as appropriate.
- Conduct functional behavioral assessments and develop functional behavior intervention plans for students with disabilities.
- Completes classroom evaluations, assists the certified school psychologist with record/data keeping.
- Assist with development of building/secondary MTSS procedures and data collection
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Working towards a specialist of doctoral degree in school psychology or a related discipline in child psychology and is eligible for internship as determined by the graduate program.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: - Demonstrates leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and colleagues.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must provide three letters from professional references, including one letter of recommendation from the graduate training program completed or currently enrolled in.
- Possess strong organization and communication skills.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
COMPENSATION: $50,000 stipend
