ITINERANT NURSE (FIELD TRIPS)- ESY
Job Description: Responsibilities include but shall not be limited to providing health services to students, monitoring students’ medical conditions, communicating with parents/guardians, and collaborating with other BOCES nurses to ensure compliance and consistency across the organization during our Extended School Year Program. Responsibilities may also include but shall not be limited to performance of functions such as administration of daily medication and provision of routine medical procedures such as diabetic checks and blood sugar monitoring, tube feedings, suctions, seizure management, urinary catheterizations, and insertions of urinary catheters. The school nurse may be required to supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and other licensed and unlicensed staff. It is desired that the individual have knowledge regarding provision of services to students with disabilities. CPR/AED certification is required. Concussion training is required. Certification as a CPR/AED trainer is preferred. Additional desirable characteristics include dependability, good organizational skills, and experience with computer software databases. Regarding physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position, requirements include but are not limited to the abilities to regularly and repetitively stand, walk, sit, lift, carry, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, climb stairs, push and pull. Regular attendance and dependability are required. Other responsibilities may be assigned. The assignment is subject to change.
Requirements: Civil Service – Non-competitive, Registered Nurse License Required, CPR/AED Certification Required,Concussion Training Required

Salary:
Salary will be as follows unless otherwise determined by the Board of Education:
Registered Nurse = Hourly Rate $45.00
Regular school year employees will be paid on a salary calculation of the above rates and time sheets will not be required.
