    Job Description 

     

     

     

    JOB TITLE:  Building Technology Resource

    SUMMARY:  Supports and maintains the technology (both hardware and software) within a school building.  Performs basic troubleshooting skills, identifies problems, and documents needed service requests for the building.  Communicates problems to the Technology Director when necessary.  Works with the Building Principal. 

     

     

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following: 

     

     

     
    1. Coordinates computer operations for the building. 

     
    1. Maintains technology and technology-related functions/procedures throughout the building. 

     
    1. Learns and instructs/assists teachers to use the building-level software. 

     
    1. Learns and instructs/assists teachers to use the standard software. 

     
    1. Participates on the school’s technology committee. 

     
    1. Inform the Technology Director of hardware/software needs. 

     
    1. Tracks and documents all building service requests. 

     
    1. Assists teachers with projects that involve technology. 

     
    1. Performs such other tasks as may from time to time be assigned. 

     
    1. Teaches Technolgy class to kindergarten through 5th grade. 

     

     

     

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

     

     

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

     

    One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience as a teaching assistant desired. 

     

     

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

     

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals and service requests.  Ability to respond to common inquiries from administrators, faculty, or other school corporation employees.  Ability to effectively present information to principal and assistant principal, faculty, students, and/or members of the School Board. 

     

     

     

    REASONING ABILITY: 

     

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

     

    Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; and reach with hands and arms. 

     

     

     

    The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

     

     

     

    CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES:  The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.  The work environment is smoke free. 

     

     

     

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Works 185 days.   Salary and benefits to be determined by the School Board. 

     

     

     

    EVALUATION:  Performance will be evaluated by the Building Principal in accordance with School Board policy.

    Starting pay is $18.00 per hour, 7.5 hours per day
