Job Summary: Under the direction of the Executive Director of Special Education and supervision of the School Psychologist, provide direct services for assigned schools; assist in the intervention process as a member of the Student Support Team; perform individual psychological observations, evaluations and assessments of referred students; explain the results of these evaluations to parents, teachers and students, when appropriate; provide consultation to educational staff regarding behavioral issues; and perform other related work as required.
Hourly Rate: Grade 11: $30.75 - $41.62 DOE
Work Day: 7 hours a day
Work Year: 9 months
Bargaining Unit: Education Support Staff Association (ESSA)
Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position):
The following are required:
- Needs to have completed, at minimum, an academic program in the area of school psychology (except for the internship).
- Must have knowledge of modern psychological principles, processes and techniques.
- Accepted psychological observation, evaluation and assessment instruments, procedures and applications.
- Applicable procedures, policies, rules, regulations, codes, laws and guidelines pertaining to special education.
- Processes involved with the evaluation summary eligibility report.
- Strong verbal and written skills in English; proper English usage, grammar, vocabulary, spelling and punctuation.
- Data tracking and collection, record management and reporting methods.
- Skill in use of computers and technology, to include, but not limited to email, internet, Microsoft Office, or equivalent software.
- Must work effectively with staff, students, parents, and administration.
- Must be able to manage time and prioritize projects; ability to maintain a safe environment for students.
