Instructional Technology Specialist Job Description
Job Title: Instructional Technology Specialist
Credentials: Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record. Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate preferred
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary or Secondary education, Instructional Psychology, Instructional Design, Computer Education, Educational Leadership or related computer education field. At least (1) one-year experience with computer systems, common peripherals and Student Information System, Learning Management System and Curriculum softwares preferred. Must have some skills in hardware installation and troubleshooting.
Training or experience required: 5 years of work experience preferred in one or more areas of technical support or management (troubleshooting of computers and printers, provisioning of devices, state testing support, basic repairs of devices) or Classroom teaching. Certifications/endorsement preferred but not required.

Essential Job Functions:
Perform instructional and administrative duties to provide training (virtual, classroom, onsite) and support to district teachers, administrators and support staff in the use of Infinite Campus - including but not limited to general use, attendance, enrollment, gradebook, scheduling and eligibility.
Attend New teacher inservice days, if requested, to provide training requested.
Coordinate Grade posting - which includes creating timelines, communicating and opening and closing grade posting windows, maintaining report cards, posting grades to transcripts. Create grading standards for Elementary school grading.
Maintain Course master and Multi-year Academic Planner - including adding, inactivating courses as well as making credit changes
Coordinate Clever software synching with Student Information System by working with software companies and curriculum team members
Serve as a backup coordinator for Canvas Learning Management System
Maintain website for end-user information
Perform other duties as assigned

Successful performance of the job requires good customer service/people skills and to handle problems and provide information and technical assistance as requested. It requires complying with safety guidelines and policies to reduce accident or injury to staff or to students. It requires following school dress standards, proper attendance or leave policies, and other work-habits concerns for staff. Creativity, initiative and effective problem solving are critical to the success of the position.Help manage the computerization of school district operations. Provide training and support to district staff in the use of administrative computer systems. Perform such tasks to the ultimate benefit of the educational program. An incumbent in this position will utilize discretion, ingenuity and independent judgment due to the complexity of the job. Since there may be several ways to solve a problem, an incumbent is free to choose the solution. In a workday, the employee must stand/walk 4 hours per day. Employee's job requires frequent bending/stooping, squatting/crouching, crawling/kneeling, and pushing/pulling; occasional climbing (6-foot ladder) and reaching above the shoulders. Employee's job requires occasional carrying/lifting of up to 50 pounds to move computers and printers.
