QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Ohio Department of Education Student Aide Permit at the time of appointment.
Meets all mandated state/federal criteria (i.e., approved degree, completion of requisite higher education credit hours/courses, or acceptable score on an authorized professional standards test).
Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies and administrative guidelines/procedures.
Demonstrates dependability/flexibility. Reacts to interruptions/emerging priorities effectively.
Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
Meets all mandated health screening requirements.
NOTE: Position may require successful completion of communicable disease, child abuse/neglect, CPR, as well as additional health trainings and/or first aid training as a condition of employment.
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Midview Local School is looking for an educational paraprofessional to assist with the educational initiatives at Midview High School as an assistant in various areas including In School Suspension, Clinic, and various classrooms/instructional environments as needed. The successful candidate should demonstrate dependability and flexibility. He/She must be able to react to interruptions and emerging priorities effectively, and must embody high ethical standards. The successful candidate should exhibit consistent, impartial and resourceful critical-thinking skills that align with the initiatives of the building administrator and district leadership. Behavioral management skills substantiated by training and work experience is beneficial. Duties may require agility, physical strength, and stamina to address the needs of students with problem behavior and/or students requiring physical assistance (e.g., mobility, transferring, positioning, etc.) as well as keeping track of medications, distributing medications, contacting parents, managing illnesses and communicating effectively with district health staff among other duties assigned to the clinic paraprofessional.
