The following noninstructional vacancy is listed in Human Resources for the 2024-2025 school year. 
 
YULEE MIDDLE SCHOOL  
1 Custodian    12 months/8 hours daily 
 
RANGE OF PAY: $15.60/hr - $17.11/hr   
(While in effect, additional compensation from the Millage initiative will be awarded annually.  For the 2024-25 school year, the amount for this position is $7,569 and will be prorated from July 1, 2024.) 
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
1. High School or GED Diploma. 
2. Physically able to perform assigned duties. 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 
*(01) Maintain a working knowledge of methods, materials and equipment needed to complete assigned tasks. 
*(02) Develop and maintain a working knowledge for the care of all assigned equipment. 
*(03) Perform heavy cleaning activities (scrub, mop, wax, polish, dust, wash windows, etc.) as assigned. 
*(04) Complete work on schedule and according to established standards. 
*(05) Receive, account for and distribute materials and supplies as directed. 
*(06) Move furniture and equipment as directed. 
*(07) Report and / or complete minor repairs as directed. 
*(08) Report all damage and major repairs to supervisor immediately. 
*(09) Assume responsibility for unlocking / securing facilities as assigned. 
*(10) Work with a variety of chemicals, some of which may be mixed by self for use. 
*(11) Read and interpret manuals for use and maintenance of equipment. 
*(12) Mow grass and perform other routine care of grounds as assigned. 
  (13) Attend in-service training sessions on custodial related subjects. 
  (14) Use effective, positive interpersonal communication skills. 
  (15) May be required to wear respirator for some tasks. 
  (16) Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.

1 Paraprofessional      RANGE OF PAY:  $16.07/hr - $17.80/hr  
(While in effect, additional compensation from the Millage initiative will be awarded annually.  For the 2024-25 school year, the amount for this position is $5,473 and will be prorated from July 1, 2024.) 
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
(1) A high school diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years of study at an accredited postsecondary institution; or an Associate’s degree or higher; or passed a rigorous examination demonstrating knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics. 
(2) Type at prescribed rate of speed. 
(3) Computer proficiency. 
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Note: Paraprofessionals may be assigned to ESE, Basic, Vocational, Guidance, Media or assigned to perform clerical duties as needed to support school programs.  
*(01) Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials and equipment. 
*(02) Assist the teacher in implementing classroom activities. 
*(03) Provide instructional assistance as planned or coordinated by the teacher or administrator. 
*(04) Provide student supervision as required by the teacher or administrator. 
*(05) Perform assigned clerical and bookkeeping duties. 
*(06) Compile required data and enter into the computer. 
  (07) Participate in training programs and in-service. 
*(08) Plan and organize appropriate instruction using guidelines established by the teacher or administrator. 
  (09) Utilize classroom management techniques conducive to an effective classroom environment. 
*(10) Maintain a clean and orderly environment for students. 
*(11) Operate instructional equipment effectively. 
*(12) Establish and maintain records and files pertinent to assigned program. 
  (13) Assist in maintaining positive relationships between the school and parents. 
  (14) Contact parents at the direction of teacher or administration. 
  (15) Answer telephone, route calls and take messages as directed. 
  (16) Serve as substitute for teacher as directed. 
*(17) Assist in assessing student progress as directed. 
  (18) Maintain confidentiality regarding student information. 
  (19) Assist students with personal hygiene and / or grooming if required. 
*(20) Use effective, positive interpersonal skills. 
  (21) Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
