POSITION: ELL Screening Specialist
REPORTS TO: Director of ELL and Assistant Director of ELL
COORDINATES WITH: ELL Literacy Coach, ELL Coordinator, and ELL Teachers
WORK YEAR: Part Time – School Year
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ELL Screening Specialist will assist Nashua School District ELL administrators and ELL teachers in screening students who have a language other than English listed on their Home Language Surveys.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Screen students using the WIDA screener to determine if students are eligible for English language learner services
• Print testing tickets to allow students access to the screening tool
• Proctor screening sessions
• Score the speaking and writing portions of the screening tool
• Complete required paperwork and document assessments results
• Assist the Director and Assistant Director of ELL in any business-related activities and any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: • 3 years’ experience in teaching ESOL.
• Certified through the Department of Education in ESOL in New Hampshire.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency working with Microsoft Office applications.
