  •   Several vacancies exist for a Long-Term Substitute Speech & Language Pathologists to work for the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit in the Office of Early Childhood Services.  This position provides Early Intervention preschool education services to children ages 3-5 years old.
     
    Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in Speech & Language Pathology.
    • Valid PA certification as a School Speech and Language Pathologist
    • Valid PA licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist or eligible for licensure
    • Experience with delivering speech services to children is preferred.
    • Current Police, Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required.
       
    Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Provide direct service to students who present a variety of speech and language disorders in classrooms, homes, and/or educational sites.
    • Evaluate students in the areas of speech and language as needed.
    • Consult with parents and other professionals regarding speech and language.
    • Write IEP’s and re-evaluation reports.
    • Participate in IEP meetings.

    Location:
    The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located in Norristown, PA and services children throughout Montgomery County, PA.  Our Early Intervention Program is split along school district lines into four (4) regions within Montgomery County.  For additional information about Early Intervention, please visit: https://mciu.org/office-of-early-childhood-services/early-intervention.  These positions will support the follwoing regions:
    • Western Region: Methacton, Perkiomen Valley, Pottsgrove, Pottstown, and Spring-Ford
    • Central Region: Norristown, Upper Dublin, Upper Merion, Upper Moreland and Wissahickon
    • Northern Region: Hatboro-Horsham, North Penn, Souderton and Upper Perkiomen
     
    Work Schedule:
    Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 12-months (194 days/year)
     
    Salary:
    Master’s, Step 1: $63,582/year
    *Placement on salary schedule based on experience and/or education beyond the Master’s Degree.
