Director of Guidance

12-Month position
The Director of Guidance is responsible for administering and supervising the school counseling program, along with the substance awareness coordinator. The Director of Guidance will coordinate and oversee a guidance program that provides all students with the tools necessary to make informed decisions regarding personal, educational, and occupational goals. The Director of Guidance also directly supervises grades 6-12 school counseling and college/career services, and serves as consultation for our K-5 counseling program.
Qualifications include:
• Certification as required by New Jersey Department of Education.
• Minimum experience as determined by the board; knowledge of computerized master schedule development.
• Demonstrates broad knowledge of child growth and development, psychology of exceptional children, and the principles of individual and group guidance and counseling.
• Demonstrates ability to effectively oversee student services, special education programs, and to work with parents, community groups, and agencies, across the K-12 school district.
• Possesses strong leadership and communication skills.
