Purpose of Position To transport students in a safe and efficient manner and perform all activities related to the operation of the school bus.

Responsibilities
1. Conducts and maintains a log of pre-and post-trip bus safety inspections.
2. Notifies Transportation Manager of any mechanical malfunctions and or safety hazards, i.e., checks lights, replaces water, antifreeze, oil and battery water; adds air to tires; replaces burned out bulbs) as necessary.
3. Keeps the interior of bus organized and free from clutter. Cleans interior of bus daily, cleans windows and exterior as needed.
4. Refuels the vehicle and maintains fuel and mileage logs.
5. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
6. Maintains discipline when students are on bus.
7. Reports undisciplined students to the Transportation Manager
8. Participates in emergency evacuation drills in accordance with administrative code and board policy and instructs students regarding safety regulations and rules for riding the bus.
9. Reports all accidents to Superintendent, SBA, Transportation Manager and Building Principal immediately and completes/submits required accident reports
10. Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
11. Willingness to participate in additional transportation training
12. Performs other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager or School Business Administrator 
180-day work year. Position will be evaluated annually
