Position:           Substitute Bus Driver
 
General Job Description:             
Under the general direction of the Transportation Coordinator, the Bus Driver is responsible for inspecting and operating the school bus to transport students to and from school and special events.
 
Qualifications: 
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
• Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.
• The following educational requirements can be completed after employment: District and state training provided each year. Certificate of in-service training required. First aid basic certification. Eight hours of annual in-service training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Operates bus, picking up and transporting students to and from school or special activities.
• Pre-inspects bus, checking oil fluid levels, belts, lights, under-carriage, brakes tire pressure, exhaust, suspension, etc. Fills in daily pre-trip inspection record.
• Fuels bus at contract suppliers
• Cleans bus on daily basis, sweeping, washing floors, washing windows, cleaning seats, and removing trash.
• Monitors students and traffic as students enter streets to board or exit bus. • Contacts teacher, parents, and school administration to discuss students’ behavior. Completes Bus Conduct report as required.
• Fills out daily payroll sheet which is turned in monthly. Submits payroll and pre-trip authorizations to District.
• Receives training in First Aid and provides assistance to students as required.
• Educates students on bus rules and safety. Continually maintains and enforces discipline as needed, verbally or in writing as required. (Utilizes Incident Report as needed)
• Participates in annual District in-service training and attends other special training programs as available (safety, emergency procedures, and certifications required by the State).
• Conducts safety drills (evacuation drills conducted twice a year). Written evacuation plan must be turned in to supervisor two times per year and posted in bus.
• Maintains seating charts in collaboration with teachers.
• Operates radio, communicating with Transportation Department when necessary.
Cleans up after sickness, accidents and spills.
• Maintains log book.
• Reports personal injuries, medications taken, and disabilities to District.
• Reports accidents immediately.
Physical Requirements: 
Heavy work: Exerting up to 125 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
 
Safety & Health:
• Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions.
Work Environment:
Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Employees in this position work in a dynamic environment that requires them to be sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs.

Position: Custodian Substitute Staff
 
General Job Description:             
To provide a clean and safe learning environment for students.
 
Qualifications: 
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work with large numbers of co-workers, students, and staff and maintain a positive attitude.
• Prefer experience in custodial work or related field.
• Valid New Mexico driver’s license for operating vehicles of the size required of this position.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Perform manual physical labor, lifting and moving materials, furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain assigned uniforms, equipment, tools, and custodial closets in operable, safe and attractive status.
• Account for supplies, materials, and equipment as required.
• Complete records and reports as required in a timely manner.
• Maintain facilities security.
• Shovel snow and keep walkways clear of ice.
• Use technology for management (work orders, e-mail, etc.).
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, principal, and/or Superintendent.
Physical Requirements: 
• Physical ability to do manual work for 8 hours per day.
• Standing, driving, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, climbing ladders. Lifting from floor to mid-thigh maximum (50 pounds) occasionally. Lifting from mid-thigh to shoulder maximum (50 pounds) occasionally. Lifting from shoulder to overhead (40 pounds) occasionally, carrying (50 pounds) maximum occasionally. Lifting more than 50 pounds of dead weight should be done by at least two people.
• Work overhead, in tight areas, off of ladders, at floor level (on knees).
• Hand/eye coordination, normal range of sight.
• Ability to move and operate vacuums, buffers, and other custodial related equipment.
• Work safely from ladders.
• Ability to move furniture.
• Fingering or otherwise working with fingers.
Safety & Health:
• Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions.
• Knowledge and training in first aid procedures required for handling athletic related injuries.
Equipment/Material Handled: 
Hand tools, equipment chemicals, vacuums, buffers, ladders, platforms, and materials particular to this trade skill.
 
Work Environment:
The work environment varies greatly in the place of work from working in a building alone to working in school facilities with large numbers of people. Conditions range from working outside in the extreme hot of the summer, to comfortable building, to working outside in very cold temperatures. Work schedule will depend on assignment. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. Must be able to work under stressful conditions. Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine.

General Job Description:             
Under the general direction of the Food Service Manager, workers provide friendly, responsive service in a clean and safe environment that all of our customers and co-workers will enjoy.
 
Qualifications: 
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of all interviews, background investigations and fingerprint clearance requirements, prior to employment.
• Submission of all employee-related documents and forms free of false, misleading and/or incomplete information prior to employment.
• Sensitivity and respect for people of various backgrounds, cultures, experiences, and socio-economic situations.
• Have basic cooking and cleaning skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Understand and comply completely with all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, directives, assignments, and training program.
• Prepare and cook food as per recipes, production records and manager instruction
• Keep a clean and safe work area including equipment, utensils, pots and pans.
• Maintain clean and well-stocked serving areas including the serving line, salad bars and milk boxes.

• Help put away deliveries in a safe manner, rotating stock using FIFO.
• Sweep and mop floors as needed.
• Remove trash from kitchen and dining room if applicable.

• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the cafeteria as directed by the manager or immediate supervisor.
• Ultimate accountability for all duties within the scope on this position’s responsibilities.
• Submitting reports as directed and in compliance with deadlines.
• Other functions, duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or which are necessary or appropriate to the position.
Physical Requirements: 
Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 5 hours). Be physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop. Must possess a food handler’s card within two (2) weeks of hire, if applicable. Must be able to safely lift and easily maneuver cases of food frequently weighing up to 40 pounds.
