    General Statement of Responsibilities
    To prepare, process, and distribute payroll efficiently and accurately as a supportive member of the Business Office.

    Responsibilities & Duties

     
    1. Prepare, process, and distribute payroll for all district employees.

    2. Prepare and process employee payroll deductions.

    3. Reconcile payroll and employee deductions regularly to ensure accuracy.

    4. Prepare, process, and distribute payroll deduction vouchers in a timely manner.

    5. Prepare, process, and submit biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll related reports.

    6. Prepare, process, and distribute employee income tax reports (W-2 forms).

    7. Respond promptly and accurately to all payroll inquiries from various stakeholders including employment verification requests.

    8. Input, manage, and maintain accurate and relevant payroll information/records.

    9. Ensure compliance with Board policy, State and Federal laws, and other regulations governing payroll practices.

    10. Keep abreast of developments/changes to payroll practices and continue professional development through involvement in professional organizations and by attending professional conferences, conducting colleague visits, and engaging in professional reading.

    11. Attend meetings, district activities and trainings as assigned.

    12. Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with staff and the public.

    13. Cross-train and work collaboratively with other team members of the Business Office.

    14. Communicate effectively with students, parents, community and staff and produce high quality communiqués.

    15. Represent the District in a professional manner and in the best interest of the District.

    16. Perform additional duties and accept other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Finance.

     

    Qualifications & Experience

     
    1. Knowledge of basic accounting practices (3 years experience/training preferred).

    2. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with co-workers, administrators, and the public.

    3. Ability to use discretion concerning sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.

    4. Experience/training utilizing office technology including, but not limited to, phone, computer, printer, fax, copier, and scanner.

    5. Experience/training utilizing office computer software including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, email, and internet applications.

    6. Knowledge of general office practices, time management, and organizational skills.

    7. Must be eligible for fingerprint clearance.

    8. Understand and carry out assigned work with minimal supervision.

    9. Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).

    10. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls and use a keyboard or keypad. The employee occasionally is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk or sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
     
    Work Environment
    The employee regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    Compensation
    Level 8 - Support Staff Wage Schedule Attached

    $19.19 - $20.14 per hour
