2. Keep buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, grounds and play areas neat and clean at all times.
3. Hose and/or sweep sidewalks, driveways and steps as appropriate.
4. Wash windows on both inside and outside as requested by principal.
5. Ensure restrooms are clean and sanitary at all times.
6. Clean drinking fountains as needed.
7. Ensure corridors and hallways are neat and trash free.
8. Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation.
9. Clean all whiteboards in common areas or conference rooms at least once a week.
10. Empty wastebaskets and trash containers in common areas and restrooms as needed.
11. Perform minor repairs to equipment in the classrooms or offices (replacing light bulbs, overhead projector bulbs, etc).
12. Move furniture or equipment within school site, set up specialty equipment (stage, sound equipment, etc.) as required for various activities and as directed by the Principal.
13. Respond to requests from Principal or teachers for sanitation issues that may arise throughout the normal workday.
14. Immediately report to the Principal and any damage to school property and submit a work order on the Help Desk work order system.
15. Immediately report any major repairs needed to the Principal and Maintenance Supervisor and submit a work order on the Help Desk work order system.
16. Assist District Maintenance personnel when needed.
17. Requisition needed supplies by submitting a work order in the Help Desk work order system. Ensure sufficient time to permit restocking without hindrance to the school’s operation.

Job Goal

To help build and enhance the self-image of the students with positive reinforcement and successful school experience.

Performance Responsibilities
 
 
1. Assists in the identification and evaluation of students in need of special education programs.
2. Administers, transfers, and interprets diagnostic data as appropriate to his/her area.
3. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
4. Adapts the curriculum with individual plans and instructional materials to the needs of each pupil.
5. Evaluates student's academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
6. Maintains a program inventory of materials and supplies.
7. Submits budget request needs.
8. Participates in the developing of a District-in-service educational program.
9. Maintains lines of communication all stakeholders (i.e. staff, students, parents, administration)
10. Maintains proper and adequate supervision of students at all times.
11. Assists in supervising students in related activities outside of immediate classroom.
12. Possesses a broad knowledge of special education and is able to transfer this knowledge into program activities.
13. Responsible for maintaining his/her personal growth and development in the areas of special education.
14. Reads professional literature pertinent to the field of special education.
15. Willing to participate in self-evaluation activities in order to improve one's self/professional outlook.
16. Other duties as may be assigned.
 

Qualifications
 
1. Bachelor's Degree 
2. Valid & Appropriate Arizona Special Education Teacher Certificate
3. Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
