LEAP SITE ASSISTANT
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and assist children in the Extended Day Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma
- Must enjoy working with children
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Maintains an environment that promotes cooperation, learning, and enjoyment.
- Monitors and assists children to ensure children's safety at all times.
- Maintains an environment in accordance with AZ Child Care licensing requirements.
- Alerts the Site Leader to any problems or special information about an individual student.
- Maintains high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information per FERPA guidelines.
- Learns assigned plans and is prepared before children arrive.
- Operates and care for equipment used in the program.
- Attend meetings, district activities and trainings as assigned.
- Attends required hours of professional growth in accordance with licensing requirements.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to use hands to handle or feel objects or controls. The employee occasionally is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus and monitor students on the periphery. The employee must regularly move about the work site to monitor children and work closely with them in a variety of settings (on the carpet, at a desk, on the playground).
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The employee regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Able to communicate effectively with staff, students, and community members.

Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Non-Exempt Status
- 10-months (187 days)- 10 Month LEAP Work Calendar
- 5 hours per day/Monday-Friday
- Sick Leave

HOURLY WAGE
Level 1 Per Board Approved 2024-2025 Support Staff Wage Schedule ($15.12-$15.40 per hour)

Extended Day Primary Site Leader & Extended Day Program Specialist
