General Summary |
Under the supervision of the Director of Instructional Technology, the Digital Learning Coach supports the integration of instructional technology within the district’s instructional framework to enhance meaningful learning experiences. This position aligns with the Lexington One Graduate Profile by fostering student success across all competency areas, including communication, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving. The Digital Learning Coach collaborates with teachers, students, parents, and administrators to create engaging, technology-rich learning environments that promote Future-Ready Literacy and responsible digital citizenship. Through professional learning, instructional coaching, and the promotion of best practices, this role ensures that educators and students effectively use technology to enhance teaching and learning. As a key instructional leader, the Digital Learning Coach is committed to continuous learning, research, and advocacy for emerging educational technologies, ensuring that technology integration aligns with district goals, instructional best practices, and school improvement plans to provide all students with high-quality, innovative learning experiences. |
Essential Functions |
- Supports and upholds the mission, vision, and strategic goals of Lexington County School District One.
- Collaborates with teachers to integrate technology tools, including AI, in ways that support creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving while enhancing instructional strategies.
- Models best practices and innovative instructional strategies for blended and digital learning, including responsible AI use.
- Supports teachers in selecting, implementing, and evaluating digital resources aligned with curriculum goals, ensuring effective technology integration.
- Promotes digital literacy, media literacy, information literacy, and AI literacy among students and staff, emphasizing ethical technology use and data privacy.
- Designs and delivers professional development on instructional technology, digital citizenship, and AI literacy in multiple modalities, including small group, coaching cycles, asynchronous, and virtual learning experiences.
- Provides coaching, modeling, and feedback to enhance educators' confidence and effectiveness with digital tools.
- Supports new and induction teachers with training on district platforms, applications, and hardware, ensuring effective integration into the instructional model.
- Guides educators and students in best practices for digital accessibility, cybersecurity, and data privacy, ensuring responsible and equitable technology use.
- Uses data to inform coaching and professional learning by assisting educators in leveraging technology to analyze student performance and personalize instruction.
- Provides guidance on digital formative and summative assessments to support meaningful student learning outcomes.
- Advocates for student voice and choice in digital learning experiences, empowering them to be Future-Ready Literate, Independent Learners, and Creative Thinkers.
- Researches and advocates for emerging technologies to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement throughout the district.
- Collaborates with district instructional technology teams and IT staff to ensure that technology resources effectively meet the needs of teachers and students.
- Develops and provides resources and support for educators and students on district platforms, software, and instructional applications.
- Works collaboratively with school-based leadership teams to align instructional technology supports with school and district goals.
- Acts as an advocate and liaison between teachers, students, and district leadership, serving as a trusted resource for digital learning guidance and thought partnership.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education/Work Experience |
- Master’s degree in education, instructional technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience with demonstrated expertise in instructional technology integration.
- Proficiency in using digital learning tools, learning management systems, and emerging technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
- Experience designing and delivering professional development for educators in various modalities, including coaching, workshops, and asynchronous learning.
- Valid South Carolina teaching certification.

- Strong pedagogical expertise combined with technological proficiency and interpersonal skills.

- Expertise in instructional design, formative and summative assessments, and adult learning theory.
- Proficiency in digital tools, learning management systems, digital learning programs, and district-supported applications.

- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to manage time and projects efficiently.
- Ability to become familiar with the school community, demographics, and communication tools to support family engagement.
- Experience troubleshooting various software, hardware, and digital learning platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems creatively and collaborate with team members to implement innovative learning strategies.
- Knowledge of records management, reporting, and proper maintenance of technology-related equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth, staying informed on new trends, strategies, and emerging technologies in education.

Working Conditions |
Conducts duties in classroom, lab and office environments with no significant exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Requires constant attention when working with students. Requires extended use of digital and computing devices and equipment. Physical demands are restricted to classroom work requiring occasional lifting/moving of items up to fifty pounds. Travel is required to provide support at multiple school sites; limited overnight travel required. |
Responsibility |
