General Summary:

Under general supervision assists the principal and staff in administering and implementing the mission and vision of the district and school.

Essential Functions:

Assists in daily operations of the school as assigned to include activities such as planning and presenting professional learning based on best practices; attending and conducting student and staff meetings on the school and district level; administering budgets; counseling students, teachers and parents; networking with support entities such as educational consultants, special services personnel, and outside community agencies; administering testing programs and data reviews; planning and designing master schedules; reviewing and assisting in the selection of instructional materials; evaluating certified and support staff;  enrolling and placing students;  coordinating and administering discipline systems; assisting with bus and other transportation schedules, routines and procedures; ensuring proper acquisition and orientation of substitutes; maintaining inventories; and assisting with building maintenance, etc. Assists in the supervision of students in school-sponsored events, including before and after school activities. Stays abreast of new trends and research studies in the field of education and interprets their potential usefulness within the framework of the total school program. Demonstrates a variety of skills to foster independent, creative, critical thinkers and problem solvers who excel in a 21st century, knowledge-based society. Demonstrates characteristics such as competence, leadership, positive work ethics, personal integrity, etc. to promote a positive image of the school and district. Evaluates the effectiveness of both formative and summative assessments; analyzes assessment data in relation to student learning and develops instructional strategies to close the learning and performance gap. Assists in the preparation of various district, state and federal assessments and reports as required for monitoring and implementing the total school program. Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops as required. Selects and requests instructional aides, technology tools, equipment, and supplies needed to perform daily activities; provides for safe storage and proper use of all materials, equipment and tools. Operates general office equipment as needed to conduct daily activities. Effectively uses personal computing devices and software applications for the management of student records, instructional efficiency, and professional development. Meets with parents, administrators and school counselors as needed to discuss student performance, activities, etc. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education/Work Experience:

Master’s degree in educational administration or related area of discipline with a minimum of three years teaching experience Valid South Carolina teaching and administrative certification

Meets with parents, administrators and school counselors as needed to discuss student performance, social and emotional needs, behavior, and personal and academic goals and expectations, etc.; issues reports in accordance with school board policy to inform parents/guardians of students’ progress; suggests interventions as appropriate. If applicable, supervises activities of assigned instructional assistants which involve such duties as planning and reviewing work, as well as providing instruction, guidance and training. Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Education/Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or related discipline with previous student teaching experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities Valid South Carolina teaching certification
Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of the policies, procedures and activities of the school district which pertain to the specific duties and responsibilities of the position. Knowledge of and ability to implement methods for developing lesson plans, materials and classroom activities which stimulate learning and provide for personalization. Knowledge of and ability to implement training methods used in teaching mathematical strategies. Ability to provide instruction to students using 21st century teaching techniques and/or supervised practice. Knowledge of student services available and referral procedures. Ability to identify student adjustment and/or academic problems. Ability to provide counseling and/or recommend appropriate remedial action as needed. Ability to demonstrate organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of the records, forms and reports which must be prepared and maintained. Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate proper maintenance, safe operation and utilization of equipment, materials and supplies used in daily activities. Ability to supervise students and maintain order in various classroom and instructional situations. Ability to demonstrate high level application of technology devices in the performance of daily activities. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with administrators, students, parents, colleagues and all other stakeholders involved in the activities of the job.
Working Conditions:
Conducts duties in a classroom environment and on field studies with no significant exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Requires constant attention working with students. Physical demands are restricted to classroom work requiring occasional lifting/moving of items up to twenty-five pounds. Occasional travel is required; limited overnight travel required.
Responsibility:

Evaluation:

General Summary:
Under general supervision instructs students in science content and skills such as conducting laboratory experiments, research, scientific methods of problem solving, etc. Assists in other school programs as assigned.
