 Job Summary:
The Behavior Health Services Clinical Specialist reports to the Director of Special Services overseeing the operations of the Special Services Department of the District. A thorough understanding of State and Federal laws and regulations applying to the delivery of student behavioral health services utilizing national standards of behavior health counseling, and the unique role Behavior Health Services Specialist provide in support of an institution of education is required.
 
This position's overall responsibilities are to support the Special Services department in addressing the whole child by providing leadership, clinical expertise, and district-wide support of the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework in assisting schools.  This includes providing counseling services to students both individually and in groups, analyzing data, providing support and guidance with Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) to special education case managers and special education specialists, and serve as the district’s wrap around care liaison with county agencies.  It also includes promoting evidence based behavioral practices focusing on prevention and intervention, social emotional education and maximizing access to school based and community based resources and service providers. This position provides a consultative relationship with school staff and leadership in developing and supporting the implementation of positive behavior support initiatives including trauma informed practice, adverse childhood experiences (ACES), restorative practices and approaches to reduce opportunity gaps, disproportional discipline practices, and special education referrals.

THIS POSITION IS SCHEDULED TO START IMMMEDIATELY

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Master's degree in social work, mental health counseling, or related field required.
• Must possess active license to provide mental health services in the state of Washington (i.e. LASW, LICSW, LMHCA, LMHC)
• School mental health experience preferred.
• Experience providing mental health services to adolescents and youth preferred.
 LICENCE/SPECIAL REQUIRMENTS
• First aid- and CPR certification is required.

Provide a curriculum and environment, including a multi-cultural environment, which meet the needs of every child, including those with disabilities developmental screening: after being trained on the administration of a standardized screening tool, conduct a screen, and re-screen then make referrals as necessary Recruit and train volunteers for the classroom Family support: encourage and support families in working toward the goals they have set for themselves Parent involvement: participate in, encourage and support family involvement in all aspects of the program. Attend at least one parent meeting per year Record keeping: maintain complete records on each child, stored in a confidential manner Staff training: attend staff in-service training, applying knowledge gained to ongoing work in the classroom.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Basic reading, writing and math skills, basic knowledge of computers and email, ability to communicate essential oral or written information to parents, students and colleagues in fluent English, ability to work effectively with children, families, community members and staff of diverse backgrounds, ability to relate positively to children and adults, ability to work as a team member, ability to use effective organizational and time management skills, ability to provide training and support to volunteers, and willingness to obtain a First Aid/CPR card.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: An Associate’s degree (AA) or higher OR two years of study equivalent to 72 quarter credits OR an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 461 or higher. Official documentation will be required upon hire. Prefer one year of experience plus a CDA Certificate or willingness to obtain an ECE degree.

Job Summary:

•  Maintains performing arts center for the purpose of preserving facility in a healthy, attractive and safe condition
•  Processes documents (e.g. building usage request, proof of insurance, accounts payable verification, prevailing wage certification, purchase requisitions) for the purpose of ensuring forms are completed in accordance with district procedures and disseminated to appropriate parties

The Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf (TOD) is responsible to provide quality academic instruction for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in the Lake Washington School DIstrict as well as provide consultation to staff that work with those students. • Work collaboratively with building staff to monitor the impact the hearing loss may have on the student's educational progress
• Pre-teach, reinforce or reteach content area vocabulary and concepts where language deficiencies hinder understanding
• Modify curriculum and materials according to the individual needs of the student
• Create lessons in self advocacy and other subjects included in the IEP
• Observe the student in the classroom to evaluate attending skills, communication repair strategies, use and effectiveness of equipment, access to instruction and accommodations
• Evaluate student's progress through formal and informal assessments
• Monitor student's audiological needs
• Assist in the development of student IEP's
Qualifications:   
• Master's degree in Deaf Education or related degree
• Ability to obtain Washington State teaching certification - certification Information: www.k12.wa.us
• Fluency in both American Sign Language (ASL) and written English
• Knowledge of Deaf Culture and community
• Experience working with students who are deaf and hard of hearing

Position Summary: This position will work collaboratively with a credentialed Lake Washington School District School Psychologist to provide consultation, collaboration with staff and parents, conduct psychoeducational evaluations, provide counseling services to students, and advise on effective prevention and intervention activities. The intern may have various opportunities at comprehensive and specialized preschool, elementary, middle school, high school, and transition age (18-22 years old) programs. Interns will have the opportunity to learn, apply, and gain experience within the National Association of School Psychology’s (NASP) 10 training/practice domains and understand how the domains inform the range of knowledge and skills school psychologists can provide. Interns will learn about how services are integrated to best meet the needs of students, families, and the school community.

- Communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) and collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
- Maintain an accurate and effective working knowledge of the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act, other applicable federal and state disability laws and their implementing regulations as they relate to school psychology in general, and to the roles and responsibilities of a School Psychologist.
- Interpret evaluation and progress monitoring data, psychological and psychiatric reports, and special education documents.
- Provide diagnostic services and recommendations for pupils in the general education setting, as well as students with special needs.
- Participate in Intervention Team and Guidance Team Meetings, IEP team meetings, school site meetings, and district school psychologist meetings.
- Plan, organize, and schedule initial and triennial evaluations; coordinate assessment plans with service providers; evaluate and analyze data.
- Review student records, organize information, and determine the appropriate assessment battery needed to assess students in all areas of suspected disabilities.
- Use a variety of assessment tools to assess students’ cognitive ability, psychological processing, social skills, emotional development, behavior, mental status, adaptive behavior, language development, academic achievement, and learning potential.
- Assist in the completion of special education evaluations under all IDEA eligibilities, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Emotional Disturbance, Intellectual Disability, Other Health Impairment, Specific Learning Disability and Traumatic Brain Injury.
- Write thorough psycho-educational and/or multidisciplinary team reports. Integrate evaluation data into a clear, organized, and educationally relevant evaluation report.
- Collect and analyze behavior data; write Behavior Intervention Plans; review plans with all stakeholders.
- Complete student evaluation reports and related documentation within required timelines
- Provide ongoing counseling to students, both in an individual and group format, using research based strategies and techniques.
- Participate in the decision-making process regarding special education placements.
- Participate in student meetings, parent conferences, and teacher/staff meetings.
- Use technology fluently to manage all components of the job.
- Maintain records in an accurate and confidential manner consistent with applicable rules.
- Utilize IEP online for documentation of referral and evaluation paperwork
- Capacity to drive between schools during the work day.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the special education director and/or school psychologist supervisor.

Lake Washington School District is looking for a Long-Term Substitute MTSS Coach starting ASAP -- the last day of school, currently 6/18/2025.

Qualifications:
Valid Washington State teaching certificate.

JOB DESCRIPTION:  
The primary role of the MTSS Instructional Coach is to build the capacity and confidence to deepen the instructional impact of teachers as they create school communities that welcome and support diverse learners to high levels of achievement.  The MTSS Coach is critical in improving student achievement and creating inclusive environments and high functioning Multi-Tiered Systems of Support in schools. MTSS Instructional Coaches will work in partnership cross departmentally to develop and deliver professional learning and job embedded coaching that supports teachers to create inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments within the framework of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports. MTSS Instructional Coaches are part of the MTSS team and will promote reflection, provide guidance and structure where needed, with a focus on strengths, collaboration and elements in implementing MTSS systems. They are responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, resource gathering, and providing feedback to teachers. This is not a supervisory position. 
The work year/days of this position may not directly align to school-year calendar to provide flexible and timely support and planning and will be coordinated with the building principal and program supervisor. 

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Criteria for selection will include the following:

• Minimum of five (5) years teacher experience
• A current WA state teaching certificate

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
• Variety and depth of teaching experience
• Experience teaching adults
• Experience coaching a student teacher or equivalent

Lake Washington School District is looking for qualified School Counselor candidates who are interested in working as a long-term (21-89 DAYS) Substitute School Counselor in the 2024-2025 school year. Substitute counselors work at all levels K - 12.

Qualifications:
 
• Certification/License: Washington State ESA Certification as a School Counselor -- REQUIRED  
 
Substitute counselors work on an as needed basis during the school year to fill long term absences only. Work hours will vary based on the assignment. Substitute Counselors can only substitute as a School Counselor, unless you also have a valid Washington State teaching certificate.
