Substitute Paraeducator
Substitute Paraeducators are employed on an at-will basis during the school year to fill in for absences & vacancies. Work hours will vary based on the assignment they select.

Applications will be reviewed when complete (with all appropriate confidential reference surveys returned – one must be from a recent supervisor). Applicants will be contacted by the Substitute Office as openings occur within the Substitute Pool. 
Mandatory orientation and training will occur after a candidate is selected for the Substitute Pool. 
 
Substitute hourly rate for 2024-2025; 
 
• Paraeducator $23.86
 
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Proof of High School Diploma or GED will be required in the form of original diploma or copy of official transcripts.

This is a non-benefited position. On call basis only. 

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the School Safety and Crisis Manager and School Administrator, the School Safety and Prevention Specialist (“SSPS”) patrols the school campus to ensure the safety and protection of students, staff, and property. They serve as a proactive team member focused on relationship based and student-centered preventative strategies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Interact and engage with students to help build a safe and positive school climate while providing supervision and positive behavior redirection
· Assist in maintaining a safe environment for students and staff by supervising hallways, parking lots, grounds, and adjacent area and de-escalating situations
· May provide coverage at after-hours school functions
· Assist administrators in escorting, searching, and conducting incident investigations and submit required documentation as requested
· Participate in safety briefings and coordinate efforts with school administration, SRO, custodial services and other agencies as directed
· Assist administration with campus security systems as needed · Attend meetings and trainings as required · Participate in emergency response planning
· Provide assistance to other agencies as needed
· Assist with traffic and crosswalk control as needed
· Provide assistance to school and district administration in completing school safety audits
· Other duties as assigned by Building Administrator or School Safety and Crisis Manager
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of emotional development of adolescents and the impact on behavior
· Knowledge of methods to safely de-escalate and adapt to difficult situations
· Knowledge of safety practices and procedures
· Ability to perform job duties in a professional and respectful manner with good judgement.

Video / Multimedia Specialist Substitute is responsible for preparing for and supporting live event LWSD school board meetings and study sessions as needed to assist or serve as back-up for the lead Video/Multimedia Specialist position. LWSD is seeking qualified candidates for this position during the 2024-2025 school year.

• $41.02 / hr
This is a non-benefited position. On call basis only. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Preparing for and supporting live event LWSD school board meetings and study sessions as needed to assist or serve as back-up for the lead Video/Multimedia Specialist.
• Operates television broadcast equipment including video cameras, studio lighting, audio mixing boards, video signal processors, video and audio signal compressors, streaming media server, audio recorders, picture monitors, editing systems and other specialized technology necessary to broadcast live LWSD School board meetings and Study sessions.
• Provides video production support for Video/Multimedia Specialist as needed for LWSD School board meetings and Study sessions.
• Attends meetings to receive and/or convey information and training.
• Models appropriate behavior for staff and the public.
• Follows LWSD policies, procedures and protocols.
• Ideally has an interest in broadcasting or a related field involving video and audio production

• Technology Skills: The position requires a person with a good knowledge in the use of differing hardware and software technologies related to the responsibilities of the position and the ability to identify processes related to the position that may benefit through the use of technology.
 
 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Associates degree or higher is required, preferably in broadcasting or a related field involving video and sound editing, evaluative and communication skills;
• Three or more years of experience in video production.

Lake Washington School District is looking for individuals who are interested in selling and/or taking tickets, scoring and timing at high school athletic events throughout the 2024-2025 school year. This position is responsible for taking money, making change, and issuing/taking tickets or acting as a scorer/timer and working accurately with the clock. If you are interested in being considered for any of these positions, please apply to this position. Athletic Directors will review applications and reach out to qualified candidates. 

This position is considered a casual or on-call/as needed position with no regular schedule. Candidates hired for this position will be considered substitute employees. Each school will review applications and reach out to selected candidates regarding next steps.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent

Pay rate: $16.28 per hour. 

Shift: shifts vary depending on sporting event, but shifts are generally 3 - 5 hours in length, predominantly in the evenings on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. School will communicate directly with selected ticket taker/sellers regarding schedule.
