TITLE: Home Hospital Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. State of Maryland Teaching Certificate.
2. Degree(s) required and area of major study.
3. Knowledge of current technologies and student applications.
4. Prior teaching experience required.
5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Student Services
SUPERVISES: N/A
JOB GOAL: To ensure that every qualified homebound child in the school system capable of benefiting from instruction be provided with required educational program.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contacting the student’s parent/guardian to notify them of his/her identity, purpose, and to schedule teaching sessions.
Contacting the counselor or principal to make an appointment to meet with the regular teacher(s).
Conferring with the regular teacher (s) to receive assignments/materials and decide who will be responsible for determining grades.
Completing all required reports and submitting them to the Pupil Personnel Worker.
Maintaining contact with regular classroom teacher (s) at least once every two weeks.
Completing the Student Bi-Weekly Progress Reports and submitting them to the classroom teacher(s).
Ensuring that all payroll reports are completed, signed, and submitted to the Supervisor of Student Services according to the pay schedule provided.
Returning all books, materials, forms, etc., to the proper personnel at the conclusion of the teaching assignment.
Contacting the Pupil Personnel Worker upon completion of the teaching assignment.
Completing the student readmittance forms, sending one copy to the Pupil Personnel Worker, and handing one to the student or parent/guardian to return to the attendance office at school.
Contact Student Services staff if there are any questions or difficulties concerning the Home/Hospital assignment.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This a part time position
SALARY LANE: $30 per hour
BARGAINING UNIT: N/A
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
