The Juneau School District is now accepting applications for the position of substitute custodian.  This is the perfect job for anyone who enjoys a variety of tasks and has experience in custodial duties.  This position is responsible for cleaning the interior and exterior of the assigned facility, adjacent grounds and walks.  Duties also include performing minor maintenance.
 
Minimum Requirements: 
 
• Able to read, understand and speak basic English
• Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds
• High School Graduate or equivalent.
 
Preferred Requirements:
 
• Valid Alaska Driver's License.
• Prior custodial experience.
• Knowledge of methods and equipment of custodial work.
Compensation:
This position is hourly/temporary as needed.  The rate of pay starts at $20 an hour.  
 
 
Selected hire will be fingerprinted at applicant's expense and fingerprints forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a criminal background check.

SUMMARY:  Substitute positions include: teachers, teacher assistants, and clerical positions.  Full- and half-day assignments are available.  School preferences will be given high consideration. 

COMPENSATION:  This is an on-call as needed 9-month position, working variable days and hours.  This is a non-permanent non-benefitted position.  
  
 
 
           
	Pay for substitute teachers  and support staff is as follows (per day based on a 7.5 hour work-day):
	Education Level
	Certificate of Substitute	(per hour)
	High School Diploma	$20/hr
	Four-Year Degree	$25/hr
 
 
 
Selected applicants will be fingerprinted and fingerprints will be forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a criminal background check.
