Location:  DISTRICTWIDE - RALLY PROGRAM
Full-Time (1.0 FTE)

SUMMARY: 
The primary function of the RALLY Supervisor is to provide sound management to the Juneau School District’s childcare and enrichment program focusing on Recreation, Arts, Learning and Leadership for Youth (RALLY). This is an exempt position and is not represented by any bargaining unit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 12 semester hours of college credit in early childhood development, child development, child psychology, or the equivalent or hold CDA credential or Montessori Certificate
• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Alaska Driver’s License required
• Required to have CPR and First Aid
• Prior experience in after school, licensed day care center, or summer program management and coordination
• Familiarity with Alaska Administrative Code for Licensed Childcare Centers and or 21st Century CCLC or willing to learn
• Successful supervisory or management experience
• Ability to use personal computers and related software
• Background and experience in budget preparation, financial forecasting, billing and collections
• Knowledge of principles and practices of daycare program management
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to supervise and evaluate personnel
• Collaborative decision-making ability
 
COMPENSATION:
This is a full-time 12-month, salaried position, working 37.5 hours per week.  Range L on the Classified Exempt Salary Schedule, starting at $66,952.08 per year. Placement on the salary schedule is dependent on relevant experience and education.   We offer an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) plan, and paid time off.  This position is not represented by a bargaining unit. 
 

Selected hire will be fingerprinted at applicant's expense and fingerprints forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a records check.

This position is based at Glacier Valley Elementary School, but the employee may be re-assigned by the RALLY Supervisor.

 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
• High school diploma or GED.
• 12 semester credits in early childhood development, or courses approved by the State childcare licensing agency.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Prior experience working in a professional childcare organization preferred.
• CPR, first-aid and certificate in district-approved behavioral management techniques may be required.
• Valid Alaska driver's license required.

Knowledge of:
• Principles and practices of childcare.
• Regulatory and subsidy requirements as they affect RALLY.
• RALLY policy and procedure.
• Alaska Administrative Code for licensed childcare centers.
• Personal computers and related software.
• School district policy.
• Early childhood development.
• Child behavior management.
• Principles of supervision.

Ability to:
• Provide technical leadership in on-site daycare operations.
• Assist in selection and scheduling of staff.
• Establish and work to a budget.
• Plan snack menus.
• Procure program supplies and materials.
• Develop, implement, and enforce discipline strategies.
• communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Operate a personal computer and related software.
• Maintain effective working relationships with other people.
 

COMPENSATION:  This is a part-time 12-month position, working 32.5 hours per week during the school year, with the possibility of working up to 37.5 hours per week when school is not in session. The starting salary is $24.60 per hour. We offer an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) plan, and paid time off.
