    Each city teacher in grades PK-8 who works in a city school for one year shall receive a bonus of $3500 total. This bonus will be payable to each teacher in two (2) lump sums per year totaling $3500. One lump sum shall be paid by the end of December 2024 for $1500 and the other by the end of June 2025 for $2000.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Eligible for State of Delaware Certification as School Principal/Assistant Principal
    • Master’s degree
    • Minimum five years of teaching experience
    • Knowledge of current research and best practices in education
    • Previous leadership experience preferred
    • Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per workday.
    • Minimum lifting requirements- 50 pounds (with assistance).
    • Must be able to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Coordinates with the principal to maintain a positive, safe learning environment for students by enforcing the school discipline plan based on the CSD Code of Conduct.
    • Manages all school scheduling, special events, field trips, cafeteria, transportation, maintenance, playgrounds and cleaning.
    • Participates on school improvement team, school climate committee, and emergency preparedness committee.
    • Serves as administrative designee in the absence of the principal.
    • Manages community use of school site.
    • Manages school budget in collaboration with the principal.
    • Assists the principal with the preparation and implementation of the school safety plan: disaster preparation, fire drills, student, staff and public safety, and student health.
    • Maintains equipment, textbook and supply inventories.
    • Monitors student attendance and coordinates efforts to improve student attendance.
    • Responsible for school public relations and communications plan: promotes the school and District through positive relations with community, business, parents, staff and students.
    • Effectively communicate and respond to parent requests, issues and concerns
    • Oversee the planning and implementation of state and district testing and surveying programs (DCAS, School Climate, etc.)
    • Assists the principal in supporting Professional Learning Committees.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
