Summary Statement
The School Psychologist provides psycho-educational services to adjudicated and at-risk youth in Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families (DSCYF) programs. The position has a variety of roles and responsibilities to ensure federal and state regulations outlined in the Delaware Administrative Code §900.922 – 900.930 along with local policies and procedures are implemented with fidelity. This is a 12 month position. 

Essential Functions
Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Support Child Find to identify students who may require special education services or who require interventions within the general education setting     
• Support the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports and actively engage in the problem-solving process     
• Work closely with building Educational Diagnosticians     
• Conduct psychoeducational evaluations to determine initial and/or continued eligibility for special education services including compiling historical data, obtaining external data (medical, etc.) conducting interviews with the student, parent, current teachers, previous teachers, conducting classroom observations, conducting cognitive assessments, achievement assessments, behavior and social-emotional assessments and other assessments based on individual student need     
• Interpret and analyze data       
• Develop psychoeducational reports and Evaluation Summary Reports, attend the IEP meeting to report results and lead the IEP team in determining initial or continued eligibility for special education services     
• Consult with building administrators, teaching staff, Mental Health Clinicians, etc. as needed to support students within the educational/instructional environment      
• Support staff with data collection, developing IEP goals and progress monitoring relating to individual student behavioral and/or social-emotional needs     
• Review Evaluation Summary Reports received from home schools for all incoming students to determine compliance with federal and state eligibility regulations     
• Conduct initial and/or re-evaluations for students placed in out-of-state programs by DSCYF  and work closely with the Out-of-State Educational Diagnostician     
• Attend all 60-day IEP meetings and others as needed     
• Complete Functional Behavioral Assessments and develop Behavior Support Plans     
• Assist in providing professional development regarding eligibility determination and other as identified     
• Other as needed/assigned by the Supervisor of Special Education or Education Unit Supervisor

Job Requirements 
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
1. Educational Specialist (Ed. S.) degree in school psychology or equivalent (e.g. MA)
2. Must currently hold or be eligible for State of Delaware School Psychologist certification and licensure
