Title of this Position: Camp Counselor
Reports To: Lead and Director of Summer Camp
The Camp Counselor is responsible for providing safe and friendly childcare for the campers at Providence Creek Academy Summer Camp.
Qualities needed to thrive in this role:
- Relationships- the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and key school stakeholders across the school
- Knowledge- a working knowledge of PCA systems, procedures, and protocols
- Dedication- a desire to interact and safely care for campers in a fun and creative environment
- Community- the ability to support the other counselors in the execution of the schedule and activities that occur daily
Major Responsibilities Include:
Under the supervision of the Lead Counselor and Director, the Camp Counselor will:
- Lead the camp in the morning stretch and pledge
- Set up breakfast
- Set up snack
- Carry group backpack and radio at all times
- Provides group supervision of campers with attention to all of the following: schedule, program, health, happiness, discipline, cleanliness, safety, routine duties, and character and skill development.
- Additional duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous experience or work with children ages 4-15 preferred
- Fingerprinting / CBC / TB / DFS CPR required.
- CPR / AED certified preferred.
- 18 years or older

Ability to:
- Communicate accurately and effectively with various levels of staff
- Remain organized.
- Behavior management experience
- Reliable / Dependable
- Fun loving
Compensation:
This position will require 3 days of work per week
Compensation: Based on years with PCA Summer Camp and Education
