POLYTECH School District is seeking experienced, energetic candidates with strong interpersonal skills to join our POLYTECH High School Team for providing leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services for our POLYTECH students and entire school-community. Essential Skills and Responsibilities: - Assist the Principal with the general administration, supervision, and leadership of the school.
- Play an integral role in managing day-to-day school operations and supervising student activities throughout the day.
- Provide educational leadership that aligns with the school mission, vision, and foundational priorities.
- Foster respectful and encouraging relationships with and among all students, families, and staff – establish and maintain effective and positive relationships with all stakeholders of the school-community.
- Consistently inspire excellence and foster a positive, inclusive school culture.
- Exhibit the highest degree of professionalism and ethical behavior.
- Establish and promote high standards and expectations for career-technical attainment, academic performance, and school culture.
- Implement effective strategies and supports for promoting student learning, achievement, and readiness for both postsecondary employment (career) and education (college and further training) opportunities.
- Engage in special education and 504 processes, regulations, laws, services, and strategies to best support diverse learners for success within an inclusive school environment.
- Supervise and evaluate teachers, specialists, and support staff, providing feedback and support to enhance practices and professional growth.
- Design, implement, manage, and oversee instructional, operational, and educational activities, supports, and programs.
- Regularly review and analyze student data to identify student needs, provide equitable supports, and implement program and school improvements.
- Effectively collaborate with community and business-industry partners and utilize resources to promote student success and postsecondary readiness as well as support career-technical and academic programs.
- Demonstrate exemplary communication skills – routinely interact clearly and professionally.
- Regularly attend and participate in school activities, events, and meetings during and after school hours.
- Implement Board policies and administrative regulations relating to the school.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal and Superintendent – final performance responsibilities will be determined based on skills and abilities of the successful candidate.

Licensure and Certification: Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware School Principal/Assistant Principal certification: http://regulations.delaware.gov/AdminCode/title14/1500/1591.pdf
Preferred Experience: - Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
- High school educator experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated successful school and/or teacher leadership experience, preferably at the secondary level.
- Proven commitment to professionalism, ethical behavior, and high standards of excellence.
- Proven ability to work effectively with students, families, staff, and the community.
- Successful work relative to educational programs, student development, and postsecondary readiness.
- Facilitated or assisted with fostering a positive, inclusive school culture.
Terms of Employment: - This is a full-time, twelve-month position.
- This position reports to the Principal.
- Successful completion of Criminal Background Check, TB Test, Health Physical, and Child Protection Registry Clearance must be completed prior to start of employment.
- Salary will be calculated in accordance with the verified educational level and work experience of the selected candidate and in accordance with the district’s salary scale.
- Direct deposit of payroll checks is mandatory, and employees are paid on a lag pay schedule with the first payment made after approximately one month of employment.
