    Qualifications: 
    • Hold or be eligible for a valid Delaware Elementary School Counselor standard certificate in accordance with 14 Del. C. § 1522. 
    • Knowledge and/or experience working with families to access support from state and local agencies.
    Performance Responsibilities:
    • Support the implementation of the MTSS program by managing student data to provide during student improvement team meetings. 
    • Work directly with students and families in crisis to support them in finding immediate assistance. 
    • Collaborate with the school counselor and Family Interventionist to support students and families.
    • Follow up on services and/or conduct home visits to meet individually with students and families to ensure that supports are in place.
    • Conduct classroom lessons in rotation of related arts classes.
    • Participate in weekly Student Improvement Team meetings to ensure that all services are provided for students who need support.
    • Work to discover and develop special abilities of students and work to resolve any student's educational disabilities.
    • Support after-school meetings with families and the organization of academic celebrations. 
    • Counsel with students on an individual or group basis in the solution of personal problems related to attendance, home and family relations, health and emotional adjustment.
    • Work with students to achieve academic success by means of individual or group conferences concerning attendance, study skills, progress reports, grades, promotion, appropriate placement and high school graduation credits.
    • Work closely with special programs established by Board policy such as attendance committee, special education and Individualized Education Program (IEP) conferences.
    • Conference with parents whenever necessary.
    • Provide in-service training in counseling for teachers.
    • Maintain student records and protect their confidentiality.
    • Serve as a liaison and make referrals to agencies outside the school such as Department of Welfare, family court, family services, psychiatrists and other counseling agencies.
    • Any other duties so assigned by the principal. 
    Terms of Employment:
    Salary and work year to be according to the current salary schedule and the Professional Agreement.  Ten-month (10) assignment.
     
    Salary and Benefits: Salary range and benefits are commensurate with qualifications and experience in accordance with Board of Education Policy. 
     
    Evaluation:  Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
