Qualifications:

• Successful experience as school or district administrator, or position of leadership in a related field required.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills required to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters of school district business. 
Performance Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership in all elements related to Human Resources.
• Oversee recruitment of new employees including the planning and attendance at recruitment events, monitoring of all platforms related to recruitment, and other related recruitment efforts.
• Coordinate and monitor the application and interview process to ensure all protocols, laws, and regulations are followed.
• Collaborate with district administration to ensure that all employment related leave, policies, and payroll are enacted in accordance with law.  
• Supervise all elements of the hiring process.
• Ensure that new employees have proper license and certification and have an awareness of the requirements for certification and the process to apply for certification in the DEEDS online portal.   
• Educate staff about steps to become certified or participate in alternative routes to certification.
• Actively plan for and participate in staff retention efforts and activities.
• Serve as a liaison between higher education institutions and coordinate the placement of student teachers, interns, practicum students, as well as find current staff members to serve as mentors for these individuals.
• Approve all Criminal Background Checks & Child Protection Registry Forms.
• Provide support to the coordinator for the Comprehensive Induction Program. 
• Plan and implement new teacher orientation.  
• Liaise with Milford Education Association and the Delaware State Education Association to uphold negotiated agreements and resolve employee related matters.
• Manage the employee of the year program(s) including nominations and selection of employees of the year and the end of year recognition program.   
• Represent Milford School District as part of the Delaware Association of School Personnel Administrators and the Department of Education licensure and certification committee.  
• Counsels with employees to resolve complaints, difficulties, and other matters related to personnel management, and works with administrators on difficult or sensitive personnel matters.
• Reviews all teacher evaluations and ensures that the evaluation system adheres to regulation and completed in a timely manner. 
• Maintains a system for personnel records for all professional staff employees, in order to provide a comprehensive, efficient, accurate, and current record of all matters pertinent to employment certification, transfer, dismissal, retirement, leave, and promotion.
• Maintains adequate confidential files on all district professional staff employees a required by law and Board policy.
• Adhere to Board policy, regulations and respond to Superintendent requests in a timely and accurate manner. 
Terms of Employment:  Twelve-month employee.
 
Salary and Benefits: Salary range and benefits are commensurate with qualifications and experience in accordance with Board of Education Policy.

Terms of Employment:  Salary and work year to be according to the current salary schedule and the Professional Agreement.  Eleven-month (11) teaching assignment.  Teachers who are hired after the first day of the school year shall only be offered a temporary contract which expires on June 30^th of the school year.

Performance Responsibilities:
• Primary duty of the Constable is to enhance and ensure a safe and secure environment for all staff and students.
• Serve as a first responder to any onsite emergency.
• Coordinate daily activities in assigned building with building level principal.
• Works collaboratively with the Delaware State Police and local police departments including School Resource Officers from the Milford Police Department. 
• Monitors interior and exterior of the school and campus during the school day, beginning prior to student drop off and extending throughout the school day, to ensure the safety and welfare of students, staff, volunteers, families and visitors and to ensure the security of school facilities and assets.
• Patrols the interior and exterior of the school building, including parking lots.
• Assists in supervision of students within and outside of the school building.
• Provides crowd control in hallways, parking lots, cafeteria, playground and/or other gathering spaces.
• Intercedes in physical altercations and other disturbances.
• Watches for disturbances, physical altercations, unauthorized visitors and/or criminal activity. Assesses danger and intervenes to halt of prevent physical altercations, disturbances, and diffuses threatening or confrontational situations between students and others.
• Assists building administrators with student incidents including but not limited to bullying, physical altercations, thefts, weapons, vandalism, and substance abuse.
• Provides guidance to district and building level administrators with investigations as needed.
• Is responsible for ensuring that the school doors are secure throughout the school day.
• Assists administration with emergency/school safety plans, tabletops, and drills.
• Maintains, and keeps updated, the emergency drill records through the school and state Emergency Response Portal.
• Responds to assist with school safety threats.
• Deploys various levels of intervention to ensure the safety and security of the school campus. Uses proactive strategies to build relationships with students and their families.
• Assist with de-escalating situations involving students, staff, and school visitors.
• Assists with escorting of students and visitors if necessary.
• Serve as member of school building Safety Team and Threat Assessment team.
• Provide professional development on safety measures for staff.
• Provide educational support to students and families regarding safety.
• Assists with bus duty and student drop-off/pickup.
• Maintains familiarity with and follows the Student Code of Conduct.
• Maintains accurate and completed security records pertaining to visitor warnings, parking control and criminal events.
• Attend ongoing training to maintain skills and safety practices.
• Assists with safety and security at evening school activities as requested including but not limited to open house, family night, athletics, productions, and graduation.
• Communicates respectfully with students, staff, families and the public.
• Maintains knowledge and follows local and state laws, the Milford School District Code of Conduct, and other Milford School Board Policies and Administrative Procedures.
• Participation in all training relative to maintaining qualifications for Delaware Constable. 
• Willingness to work during summer school. 
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment:  185-day school year / 8 hours daily (includes 30 minute paid lunch).  Position is at-will and subject to termination at any time.
