Job Description: Marine Instructor (MI)
Marine Instructor, First State Military Academy. The Marine Instructor (MI) works for the Senior Marine Instructor (SMI) in the daily performance of their duties. The MI is responsible for teaching the Leadership Education portion of the curriculum for their assigned grade level (freshman – senior), drill and ceremonies, leadership and character development of the cadets, cadet promotions, physical fitness training, and other duties as may be assigned such as marksmanship, drill, Raiders, Cyber Patriot, and logistical duties in support of the MCJROTC program. MIs wear the MARPAT uniform daily and as required, the Service and Dress uniforms; a civilian uniform (khaki trousers and school polo shirt) is authorized as the UOD when cadets / students are not present such as professional development days and during the summer. In addition, MIs are expected to maintain the Marine Corps’ height and weight standards.
Qualifications: Marine Instructor (MI)
1. Retired commissioned or warrant officers, or SNCOs.
2. Marines separated under honorable conditions within the past 5 years with at least 8 years service.
3. Members of the selected reserve (SMCR).
4. High school graduate.
5. Minimum GT score of 100 on Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).
6. Competitive military record.
7. Physically qualified according to Marine Corps height and weight standards.
*All college degrees will be verified for accreditation. Degrees from colleges, universities and institutions for higher education that cannot be verified as accredited, will not be accepted.
Additional Job Information:
The following are conditions of employment for new employees:
Satisfactory FNI background check prior to being placed on payroll.
Satisfactory child protection registry check.
TB Test
Mandatory direct deposit of pay.
Salary: Salary will be calculated on an idividual basis.
