POSITION: 2025 – 2026 Secondary Behavior Intervention Specialist/LCSW/LMSW (Full-time, 10-Month Position, 37.5 hours/week)

JOB FUNCTION:
Provides a functional, comprehensive program of direct services for all children utilizing the expertise gained through professional training in the areas of school behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health counseling. These services will emphasize counseling children; consultation with teachers, parents and other significant adults; and coordinating a variety of activities and functions related to the behavioral health, mental health, academic, social, emotional and physical needs of students.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Provides direct intervention support services to students and serves as a resource to Student Services
• Provides individual and groups counseling for students to address specific behavioral, social-emotional needs and monitor students’ progress
• Consults with teachers and parents about children’s needs, including but not limited to social emotional, behavioral, and academic needs
• Collaborates with school staff and community representatives in assessing student needs and utilizes the data to develop prevention and intervention plans
• Provides home visits as needed to assess family circumstances and make needed referrals to community resources for problems interfering with the child’s academic progress, social, behavioral, emotional or physical development
• Works with parents and staff to help increase their understanding and constructive participation in appropriate efforts to help alleviate barriers to students’ social emotional well-being; Contacts parents to obtain signed permission slips to work with the student and further assess student needs
• Works in collaboration with other student support professionals to conduct social emotional and behavioral screenings
• Collects and manages student data documentation to support the MTSS progress monitoring needs
• Provide crisis intervention as it pertains to educational performance.  Intervention may include family and/or interagency involvement (DMH, DRS, YRE, ICT, Family Court, other mental health agencies). Provide referrals to and collaborate with mental health agencies
• Refers students to the proper authorities for child abuse or neglect when suspicion exists and
  provides support services to those children as needed
• Obtains pre and post measurements to evaluate program efficiency.
• Provides consultation and training to school staff on behavioral management strategies.
• Provides families with information regarding behavioral management strategies.
• Possesses CPI Trainer Certification or participates in CPI Train the Trainer within 6 months of hire.
• Conducts home visits as needed.
• Prepares all necessary records and reports.
• Selects and attends professional development as required by the State and District
• Maintains all professional certifications and Licensure requirements
• Willingness to provide clinical supervision to peers
• Provides evidence based and culturally responsive best practices when working with youth; Skills and knowledge in dealing with multicultural populations; Demonstrates the ability to communicate in more than one language or the willingness to learn to communicate in more than one language at the novice level of proficiency.
• Performs other duties as assigned 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Masters’ Degree in either School Counseling, School Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, School Psychology or related field
• Minimum of three (3) years of professional clinical experience and licensure is preferred.
 
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Must hold current Delaware Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Delaware Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

JOB TITLE/POSITION: 2025-2026 Speech Language Pathologist

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Screens students for possible speech and/or language deficiencies
• Evaluates the speech/language skills of students in the schools and through Child Find
• Schedules individual and small group therapy sessions for eligible students identified as having speech and/or language needs per IEP
• Reviews, interprets and explains evaluation results received from other school districts or evaluators outside of the district to determine eligibility for services and /or to determine if additional assessments are needed to determine eligibility
• Refers students to and confers with community resources as required
• Cooperates with the school personnel to deliver services in accordance with each student’s IEP
• Provides information, when requested, to parents and community through meetings, workshops, etc.
• Acts in a professional manner to promote students’ feelings of self-worth and confidence
• Implements therapy and behavioral strategies to meaningfully engage students to participate and practice targeted speech language, and behavior expectations
• Prepares comprehensive evaluation reports, ESR documents, progress summaries, and related compliance documents in accordance with DDOE and Cost Recovery Program guidance
• Encourages students to behave in accordance with classroom and school rules and expectations
• Keeps accurate records and documentation on student progress
• Maintains a professional, cooperative working relationship with all school personnel
• Performs other duties as assigned 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Completion of a Bachelors and/or Masters degree with emphasis in speech-language pathology, communication disorders or speech-language and hearing science 
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Applicant must hold or be eligible for a Speech/Language Pathologist Professional License from the State of Delaware
