Job Qualifications: - Possess or be eligible for Certified Central Office Personnel Certification in the State of Delaware.
- Master’s degree required, Doctoral degree preferred.
- 10+ years of verifiable and successful leadership experience at the secondary level.
- Extensive knowledge of best practices for increasing student achievement at the secondary level.
- Expertise in coaching and facilitating positive change at the secondary level.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing strategies for post-secondary education preparation.
- Exceptional team and relationship-building, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in a variety of technology applications, including data analysis and student information systems, digital learning platforms, and productivity tools.
- Alternatives to the above qualifications that may be deemed, appropriate, applicable, acceptable, and in alignment with State required qualifications.

Essential Functions:- Oversee and support the academic, instructional, and operational aspects of secondary education while also collaborating with staff, administrators, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with school leaders, counselors, and support staff to design tiered intervention strategies that address the diverse needs of students.
- Provide leadership in the schools’ implementation of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to enhance student achievement, social-emotional development, and equitable access to resources.
- Analyze student performance data to monitor the effectiveness of MTSS interventions and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
- Use data-driven analysis of student achievement, discipline, graduation rates, and other key indicators to identify disparities and drive the development of building-level systems that eliminate opportunity gaps.
- Collaborate with curriculum and instruction teams to ensure equitable access to advanced coursework, Career-Technical Education (CTE), dual enrollment, and enrichment programs.
- Design and deliver professional development for secondary administrators.
- Collaborate with secondary principals, teachers, and content specialists to improve learning for all students and to close the achievement gap by addressing student needs and improving the rigor, relevance, and relationships in secondary schools.
- Ensure equitable access to college and career readiness programs, including CTE, dual enrollment, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and work-based learning opportunities, by addressing barriers to participation and collaborating with local industry and higher education partners.
- Develop and implement middle and high school summer school programs.
- Monitor the development and implementation of school success plans.
- Supervise the planning, implementation, and modification of instructional programs/strategies, course development, and professional development.
- Supervise curriculum development, testing, assessment, and evaluation.
- Supervise the career and technical education programs and the implementation of enrichment, music, and art programs.
- Oversee secondary grading and reporting procedures.
- Oversee and support secondary schools in integrating technology to enhance instructional practices, including digital learning, personalized learning, and equitable access to digital resources.
- Manage and monitor the district’s compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations concerning accountability and improvement of students’ academic performance.
- Complete tasks and special projects as required or assigned.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, use hands to the finger(s), handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, use fingers to type and/or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, and color vision, peripheral and depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 20 pounds. If lifting in excess of this weight is necessary, the assistance of a second person is required.
