Speech-Language Pathologist - Extended School Year – Early Childhood
This position is for the Summer 2025 Extended School Year (ESY) program and is designed to support the continued progress of students with speech-language needs.
 
Summary:
The Extended School Year (ESY) Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides speech and language services to early childhood students identified with communication needs. The SLP will work collaboratively with educators, families, and support staff to address speech, language, and social communication challenges, ensuring that students maintain progress toward their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals during the summer session.
 
Essential Functions:
The duties listed below are representative of the position but are not all-inclusive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
 
• Provide direct and indirect speech-language services to students in alignment with their IEP goals.
• Conduct pre-referral consultations and collaborate with general and special education teachers to support student communication needs.
• Oversee case management for students receiving speech-language services, ensuring compliance with ESY guidelines.
• Conduct assessments and monitor student progress, adjusting intervention strategies as needed.
• Implement classroom-based speech-language support in the least restrictive environment.
• Work collaboratively with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate communication development.
• Maintain accurate records, including due process documentation, program data, and third-party billing as required.
• Adhere to district policies, ethical standards, and federal/state regulations governing speech-language services.
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment by demonstrating professionalism and collaboration.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
• Valid Minnesota Speech-Language Pathology teaching license.
• Driver’s license (for travel to different locations if necessary).
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Knowledge of early childhood speech and language development, disorders, and intervention strategies.
• Familiarity with special education policies, procedures, and best practices.
