EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree
Colorado teaching license
Preferred:
Knowledge about Literacy and Math instruction
Ability to adjust and monitor instructional delivery in accordance with student progress
Ability to monitor student academic growth
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective: Provide an enriched atmosphere where students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible members of society. Facilitate learning and guide students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional and psychological growth and maturation.
Essential Functions:
- Works with members of the student's neighborhood school to identify the educational needs of those students assigned.
- Provides with the direct input from classroom teachers, and instructional program for each assigned student receiving homebound instruction according to students IEP and/or medical recommendations.
- Meets with each assigned student on a regularly scheduled basis for the purpose of providing academic instruction.
- Files written monthly academic progress reports on each assigned student with the ESS department, the student's parents or guardians and with the student's case manager.
- Submits and maintains all reports and records as required including student attendance reports, mileage reports and monthly reports and monthly summaries.
- Responsible to contact building case manager weekly to determine student's academic instructional needs and communicate progress.
- Responsible for establishing weekly instruction schedule and location with student.
- Responsible to participate in district level in-service days according to district calendar.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge and skills sufficient to perform all duties of the position.
- Prefers leadership situations relating to meeting the social, emotional, psychological and academic needs of students.
- Prefers a work environment where flexibility, ability to deal with conflict, a high tolerance for stress, an ability to quickly internalize information and make informed decisions, and long hours are a part of the assignment.

Work Environment/ Physical Demands: Ability to sit for long periods of time, numerous distractions, visual, auditory and ambulatory acuity important. Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
