Anticipated - Behaviorist - Tenure track position (Full time) Position Purpose Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Services, to help reduce or eliminate behavioral difficulties that interfere with the students’ ability to derive full benefit from the district’s educational programs.
Essential Performance Responsibilities - Completes functional behavior assessments for students demonstrating challenging behaviors.
- Creates and trains staff in the implementation of behavior intervention plans for children with challenging behaviors.
- Plans, prepares and delivers treatment programs for students receiving individualized Applied Behavior Analysis services.
- Develops and implements an individualized educational program (IEP) in conjunction with parents and teachers for pupils who are eligible for Applied Behavior Analysis services.
- Provides individual, group, integrated, and consultative intervention sessions for students who are eligible for Applied Behavior Analysis services.
- Provides parent training for eligible families.
- Consults with the I & RS and 504 committees on an as needed basis.
- Maintains close liaison with the child study team and other related service providers.
- Keeps those records necessary for each student and completes all required local, state and federal reports.
- Maintains data for behavior change procedures and makes data based treatment decisions.
- Participates in the development and improvement of opportunities for disabled/exceptional students by providing individual or group in-service experiences for staff and parents.
- Conducts ongoing evaluation of all students in the program to determine appropriateness of their program.
- Acts as educational consultant to classroom teachers, guidance counselors and administrators as required.
- Assumes primary responsibility for requisitioning and maintaining needed equipment and supplies.
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education and other professional growth activities.
- Assumes other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or the Director of Student Services.
Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Student Services and other administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Travel Requirements Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles, assessments, methods, behavior modification, etc., and current developments in child psychology.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Qualifications Profile - Certification Board Certified Behavior Analyst (B.C.B.A.)
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Education - Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
- Masters Degree.
Experience Successful prior experience with behavior-analytic services in schools.
