The Finance Director for Shared Business Services is responsible for the coordination, management and supervision of payroll, finance and business services in the assigned local school district(s). QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education:       
Bachelor’s degree required in finance, accounting, business, management, human resources, educational administration or related field.  Master's degree preferred. Approval as a certified public accountant preferred. Eligible for Chief School Business Official certification and maintain the Michigan Department of Education continuning education requirement. 
 
Experience:                 
Minimum five years successful experience in the business office of a K-12 school district or combination of work experience in a K-12 administrative position and intermediate school district, industrial, business or financial management experience.  Work experience as a K-12 public school business director preferred. Office management and computer technology experience required. Prefer experience with Schools Open software. Demonstrated ability to supervise and evaluate the work of others, prepare complex financial reports, work with auditors, solve complex problems and work in a variety of school business office situations required.

· Lead and manage daily operations of payroll, finance, accounts receivable, and other business services.

· Oversee compliance with MDE, MPSERS, and applicable policies.
· Prepare financial reports, audit documents, and board submissions.
· Represent GISD at local and state meetings; serve on business official committees.

· Support non-profit or shared services districts as needed.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field required.

The Instructional Coach and Consultant, English Learners is responsible for implementing the ESOL Program in cohesion with the Program Supervisor. They oversee the required professional learning of ESOL Program Staff including EL facilitators, liaisons and ESL teachers. They also support the professional learning and ESOL Program implementation in participating consortium districts and PSAs. The Instructional Coach and Consultant provides countywide WIDA ACCESS and related trainings. They collaborate with local district Point of Contacts (POCs) to coordinate and support professional learning for local district instructional staff who have EL identified students as well as building administrators and enrollment staff. The coach and consultant utilizes their expertise to support the English as a Second/Other  Language (ESOL) program eligibility and identification; consults on instructional programming, evaluation and assessment; advises on parent engagement, communication and outreach; and assists with Program Evaluation.

Available:
One (1) full-time positions; 7.5 hours per day. 185 days per year.

Salary:
Program Facilitator Salary Schedule.  A competitive salary schedule featuring educational pay lanes and steps.  Years of service will be considered.
 
Benefits:
We offer five different health insurance plans along with dental, vision, life and disability insurance after one full day of employment.  Employees shall be subject to the co-payment of health care costs in accordance with state law.   

Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s Degree required.  Valid Michigan teacher certificate with ESL or bilingual endorsement required.  Demonstrated proficiency or significant experience in a language other than English required. SIOP Trainer of Trainers Preferred. Coaching and mentoring preferred.

Experience:
Five years of successful experience educating K-12 English Learners of diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.  Demonstrated experience in administering, interpreting and evaluating student language proficiency assessments including WIDA Screener, WIDA ACCESS and WIDA Alt ACCESS. Experience coordinating and providing professional learning and program /leadership.

Education:
Master’s Degree in the field of Education is required. Must have a valid State of Michigan elementary teaching certificate for placement in an elementary school. State of Michigan School Administrator Certification required (see note below).
 
*NOTE: Pursuant to MCL 380.1246 subsection (3), a person employed as a school administrator, after January 4, 2010, will have six months to enroll in a program leading to certification as a school administrator and three years to meet certification requirements.
Per the School Administrator Certification Code, a person employed as a school administrator, whose primary responsibility is to administer instructional programs, must hold a valid Michigan School Administrator Certificate or work under a valid school Administrator Permit. Administrators not possessing a School Administrator Certificate at time of hire must obtain annual School Administrator permit and demonstrate progress toward certification. 
 
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of successful certified teaching experience at a level appropriate for corresponding building placement (elementary versus secondary) is required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an educational leadership role is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience as an academic coach, instructional specialist, or curriculum coordinator is preferred. Experience in grant management and data interpretation and analysis preferred.

Qualifications:
 
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Education, or a related field.

• Experience: Prior coaching and/or athletic administration experience at the high school level.

• Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.

• Certifications: CPR/AED certification and any required state athletic administration credentials.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
• Experience in budget management and fundraising.

JOB PURPOSE and Focus
To organize, coordinate and promote a comprehensive athletic program in the assigned sport that is designed to meet the needs and interests of the school community. To provide effective leadership that will ensure a positive learning environment and will stress the importance of academic achievement. To demonstrate a high degree of ethics, professionalism, human relations and be a positive role model for all students.
 
Essential Qualifications and Requirements 
High School Diploma or equivalent
Patience, reliability, problem solving ability, as well as diplomacy and negotiation skills
Willingness to accommodate a flexible work schedule
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of individuals
Knowledge of the assigned sport
Previous coaching experience in the assigned sport preferred
Exceptional leadership abilities
Excellent communication, organizational and administrative skills
Ability to work with and support athletes of all ability levels within assigned sport
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administrator may deem appropriate
 
 
 
Essential Functions and Representative Duties
Plan, organize, and implement the teaching of fundamentals, strategies, rules, and proper conditioning in the assigned sport
Enforce all rules of league and state associations as they pertain to the respective sport
Cooperate with the administration, athletic director, fellow coaches and students to promote the best interests of the entire athletic program
Condition athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength and agility
Provide for the safety of participants by inspecting facilities and equipment and being aware of environmental conditions
Ensure that adequate supervision is provided for all students involved in the program including locker rooms and buses
Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one's team
Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times; establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards
Assume responsibility for conduct of contestants in sport involved
Monitor athletes' school attendance, grades and personal conduct
Instruct participants in safety procedures and in the need to report injuries to the coach and/or trainer immediately; implement appropriate procedures for handling injury situations; ensure the availability of a properly supplied first aid kit and emergency care cards at all times
Manage uniforms, equipment and school facilities in a responsible manner
Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate
Collect, inventory, and store equipment consistent with department guidelines
Communicate to all participants the policies of the team, local school, and School
Board relating to school sponsored activities
Be responsible for public relations and publicity for the assigned athletic program
Establish procedures for communicating with parents/guardians
Compile and maintain accurate individual and team performance records
Participate in awards program(s) according to school procedure
Head coaches:  Have meetings with assistant coaches to coordinate coaching methods at different levels; assign duties to all assistant coaches; assist the athletic director in evaluating the performance of assistant coaches in grades 7 - 12
Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment
Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
