EFFECTIVE DATE: 2024/2025 School Year (Teacher's first day is August 12, 2024)
HOURS: Approximately 7 hours/day
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent (per the requirements established by the Genesee Intermediate District plan).
- Prefer successful experience in a program working with Special Education students.
- Exhibit emotional stability and physical stamina necessary for the management of the student.
- Maintain regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide assistance/supervision to students with learning and behavior problems including the implementation of behavior plans.
- Provide small group or individual student assistance in academic areas as directed by the teacher.
- Work as a member of a team to assist students with disabilities placed in general education settings.
- Be willing to provide one-to-one assistance for a student whose disabilities require specialized assistance and understanding. This assistance may include the monitoring of special medical equipment.
- Be willing to assist student with dressing, toileting, eating, and other self-care needs.
- Have physical stamina to frequently lift a student to standing and do wheelchair transfers, etc.
- Assist with bus/car loading and unloading.
- Maintains confidentiality of information regarding all students.
- Participates in inservice training programs as assigned.
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned by bus drivers, teacher, or administrators.
- Post-employment offer physical may be required.
- Maintain regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
SALARY: $12.51/hour - $16.57/hour; commenstruate with experience; per the Davison Paraprofessional Master Agreement
