The District Communications Specialist is responsible for enhancing the visibility and engagement of Flint Community Schools (FCS) by developing and implementing strategic communication plans. This position collaborates closely with district leadership, staff, and community partners to ensure clear, consistent messaging across multiple platforms. Serving as the lead event coordinator, the Communications Specialist manages internal and external communications, creates content, and maintains the district and Title I websites. With a strong commitment to FCS’s mission and values, they ensure high-quality communication efforts that foster community engagement and support district initiatives.

Salary & Benefits: Salary starting at $58,280 per year - based on education & experience.
Health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance. Employees shall be subject to the co-payment of health care costs equal to the difference between the premium cost and the annual cost limitation imposed on public employers.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required. Education in communications, marketing, journalism, or another related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum five years’ experience of professional communications, journalism, or marketing experience required. Demonstrated experience developing, writing, and editing content required. Proficiency using design software or tools preferred.
