Job Summary: Atherton Community Schools seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to serve as the Reproductive Health Coordinator. This role involves leading the district’s reproductive health education efforts by overseeing curriculum development, ensuring compliance with state and district policies, and facilitating community and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate the Reproductive Health Advisory Committee, ensuring diverse community representation, including educators, parents, health professionals, and students (as appropriate).
Review, evaluate, and recommend reproductive health curriculum materials in alignment with state guidelines and district policies.
Ensure compliance with state and federal laws regarding reproductive health education, including parental notification and opt-out policies.
Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and health professionals to implement age-appropriate, medically accurate, and inclusive instructional materials.
Facilitate public meetings and gather community input on reproductive health education topics.
Provide professional development and training opportunities for teachers delivering reproductive health education.
Stay informed on emerging health trends, best practices, and legislative changes related to reproductive health education.
Prepare reports and recommendations for school board review and approval.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Education, Public Health, Health Education, or a related field preferred.
Experience in curriculum development, health education, or community engagement preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of state and federal reproductive health education policies.
Ability to facilitate discussions on sensitive topics in an inclusive and respectful manner.
Stipend depending on experience.
