Job Summary:  Atherton Community Schools seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to serve as the Reproductive Health Coordinator. This role involves leading the district’s reproductive health education efforts by overseeing curriculum development, ensuring compliance with state and district policies, and facilitating community and stakeholder engagement.
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Lead and coordinate the Reproductive Health Advisory Committee, ensuring diverse community representation, including educators, parents, health professionals, and students (as appropriate).

• Review, evaluate, and recommend reproductive health curriculum materials in alignment with state guidelines and district policies.

• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws regarding reproductive health education, including parental notification and opt-out policies.

• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and health professionals to implement age-appropriate, medically accurate, and inclusive instructional materials.

• Facilitate public meetings and gather community input on reproductive health education topics.

• Provide professional development and training opportunities for teachers delivering reproductive health education.

• Stay informed on emerging health trends, best practices, and legislative changes related to reproductive health education.

• Prepare reports and recommendations for school board review and approval.
 
Qualifications:
 
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Education, Public Health, Health Education, or a related field preferred.

• Experience in curriculum development, health education, or community engagement preferred.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Knowledge of state and federal reproductive health education policies.

• Ability to facilitate discussions on sensitive topics in an inclusive and respectful manner.
 
Stipend depending on experience.

Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in speech and language pathology.
• CCC required.
• Previous experience with disabled students, their related educational needs and IEPT mandates.
• Experience with Easy IEP a plus but not required.
• Demonstrate ability in oral and written communications. Demonstrate creativity, initiative and understanding in working with students, staff, and parents/guardians. Ability to make decisions in accordance with Board Policies and special education mandates with minimum supervision.
 
Essential Duties:
• Conduct screenings and assessments and provide written evaluations for suspected disabled students or special education students in the areas of articulation, fluency, voice, language, and autism spectrum disorders.
• Provide direct and indirect speech and language services to eligible students.
• Develop and write annual goals and short-term instructional objectives for students assigned to caseload.
• Attend and actively participate in Student Assistant Team, Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) and individualized Education Planning Committee (IEPT) meetings as requested.
• Compile and maintain records and written reports for students assigned to the caseload.
• Provide inclusionary inter-disciplinary service to eligible students.
• Evidence quality performance in areas of responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned by Director of Special Education

JOB SUMMARY:  


A school psychologist has assigned responsibilities for evaluation, consultation and other services to Grand Blanc Community School students in preschool through post-high school levels and demonstrates abilities to work effectively with students, parents, staff and administrators.     


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  
   
A school psychologist functions in the following roles:  
   
1. Provides psychological evaluation for pupils referred as candidates for Special Education programs and provide reports to the appropriate education authority.
2. Administers tests which may include intelligence, achievement, personality, adaptive behavior and perceptual-motor tests. 
3. Interprets the psychological and other diagnostic data for professionals, parents, pupils and appropriate others. 
4. Collaborates in program planning and evaluation services for decision making purposes. 
5. Consults, counsels and collaborates with pupils, parents, school personnel and appropriate outside personnel regarding mental health, behavioral and education concerns utilizing psychological principals. 
6. Collaborates/participates in planning educational intervention, curriculum, behavioral management and teaching strategies to be utilized within general education settings. 
7. Performs systematic direct observations of pupils. 

Competencies of the school psychologist include:  
   
1. Knowledge of the organization and administration of local and state agencies and their services for pupils. 
2. Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and other legal aspects of the role of the school psychologist.
3. Knowledge of Section 504 of the Rehabilitations Act. 
4. Skills in the ability to consult, counsel and collaborate with pupils, parents, school personnel and appropriate outside personnel regarding mental health, behavior and education concerns utilizing psychology principals. 
5. An understanding of the rationale of testing, measurement and skills in the administration of tests, including those which measure intelligence, achievement, personality, adaptive behavior and perceptual-motor skills. 
6. Skills in integrating data obtained from tests and from other sources of information and ability to communicate these findings to other professionals, parents and pupils in a meaningful way. 
7. Skills in psychological report writing and other written communication. 
8. The acquisition and mastery of broad understanding of learning and learning impairments. 
9. Knowledge of human growth and development in pupils with or without handicaps. 
10. A comprehensive understanding of personality development and the assessment of human behavior. 
11. Knowledge of how cultural and ethnic differences influence behavior and affect evaluation. 
12. Knowledge of the ethical standards of the profession of school psychology. 
13. Knowledge of appropriate classroom accommodations, learning styles and curriculum modifications 
14. Possess strong organizational skills/ ability to coordinate services. 
  
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:  

Full or standard certification through the Department of Education in Compliance with Michigan Special Education Regulations.
