  The School Social Worker supports the vision and mission of the Genesee Intermediate School District by assisting students whose emotional/social problems interfere with their ability to obtain maximum benefit from the educational program; by acting as a liaison between parents/guardians, school, and public and private agencies responsible for student care and services.
 
AVAILABLE: One (1) Full-Time position available; 7.0 hours per day, 206 days per year (balanced calendar).
                       
SALARY: The Genesee Intermediate Education Association (GIEA) offers a competitive salary schedule for certificated staff, with consideration given to years of service. For the 2024-2025 school year, the salary schedule includes a 2% increase on the schedule, with salaries ranging from $36,896 to $87,437, depending on qualifications and experience. For the 2024-2025 school year, eligible special education positions will receive an additional 2% off-schedule stipend.
           
BENEFITS: We offer five different health insurance plans along with dental, vision, disability, and life insurance after one full day of employment.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master-Social Work required. Eligible for temporary or full approval as school social worker through the Michigan Department of Education. Must hold valid social work license (P.A. 61 of 2004) through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).

Experience: None required; successful school social work experience preferred.
