The 21st Century Grant is running a program for elementary and middle school students in grades 1-8. This program is specifically for students who are Spanish speakers (first language is Spanish, bilingual, English language learners) to learn how to read and write in Spanish and refine their spoken language. Students will also learn about the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries. The teachers, paraprofessionals, student interns must be proficient in Spanish and English with reading, writing, and speaking skills. In District Candidates Need Only Apply
21st Century Teachers/Papraprofessionals/Student Interns will be assigned to hours depending on availability and student enrollment.
Position Responsibilities
- Teach and/or support teaching Spanish Speakers to learn how to read and write in Spanish and refine their spoken language and guide learning about the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries.
- Monitor and supervise children in grades 2 through 8 in the 21st Century Grant Program
- ?Coordinate learning, games and activities for students
- Assist students with conflict resolution strategies as needed
- Ensure all students are using equipment and supplies appropriately and safely
- Communicate behavior concerns with parents/guardians and the supervisor of the the 21st Century Grant Program
Required Knowledge, Skills & Ability:
- Ability to manage a flexible and changeable schedule
- Ability to provide guidance and direction to staff and/or students based on assigned roled
- Ability to effectively communicate with students and members of the community.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bilingual - The teachers, paraprofessionals, student interns must be proficient in Spanish and English with reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Clear background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supervising staff (Teacher)
- Experience working with elementary students
Essential Physical Requirements
- Ability to supervise students indoors and outdoors
