Job Objective: Assume clerical duties and provide student supervision to support virtual School Psychologists and virtual Speech Language Pathologists in the fulfillment of their assigned duties to support preparation for IEPs, monitor and proctor virtual evaluations, assessments, and virtual therapy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accompany students to virtual related services therapy sessions and supervise them throughout the session.
- Provide continual supervision to students during their virtual therapy and/or evaluation sessions.
- Log on to the Google Meet and project it on the SmartBoard.
- Troubleshoot any technology needs or issues.
- Assist in preparation of virtual activities, materials, and subsequent follow-up/cleanup.
- Print any activities, assessments, or evaluation tools that the Virtual Provider requests and have readily available for the student.
- Transition students to and from the therapy or evaluation room. Assist the student in navigating the building and accessing the therapy room.
- Assist the virtual provider with maintaining the student’s focus and attention. Provide redirection as needed and adhering to any accommodations the student may require to access the virtual session.
- Check for understanding and provide frequent feedback to the student.
- Adhere to federal laws; state regulations; district policy; including maintaining confidentiality regarding students and evaluation protocols and assessments.
- Adhere to all building site procedures; classroom management rules and routines; as well as safety practices and procedures in all work venues.
- Keep attendance and assist with maintenance of confidential file folders and individual student records.
- Assist with scoring evaluations and assessments.
- Assist virtual provider and school teams with scheduling IEP meetings and ensure all paperwork is ready for the IEP meeting.
- Work with groups or individuals as instructed by the certified staff.
- Attend in-service training sessions.
- Responsible for following directives of certified school personnel and carrying through with all activities deemed appropriate by the supervisor.

Length of Contract: Subject to funding and need, One hundred seventy-four
(174) contract days per school year. Salary commensurate with experience on the negotiated agreement of the Support Employees of Edmond (SEE).

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Former experience with children, particularly children with special needs is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
None required but the following must be completed and maintained upon employment: Annual GCN training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, and to write simple correspondence. Effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations to students and other employees of the school district. Ability to follow directions. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform basic math operations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Maintain accurate data records, which provide documentation of students’ programs and services under the supervision of the special education teacher, administrator, and other professionals as needed.
REASONING SKILLS:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, chart/diagram, or scheduled format. Ability to use sound judgment and make decisions in the absence of a supervisor and work independently. Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with all district personnel and students. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to use computer and computer related programs and other technologies needed to perform essential job functions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and district personnel. Dress in appropriate clothing. Demonstrate punctuality and good attendance, report absences as directed by administration. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Knowledge of confidentiality laws. Demonstrate caring and compassionate personality & patience. Ability to make responsible judgments for students’ safety.
