About the Position 
This posting is not for a specific position with the Edmonds School District.  Your application will be placed into an applicant pool for Substitute Principals.  If hired, you will be an on-call employee that will be assigned to various school sites as a substitute.

Edmonds School District Principals develop and implement an effective learning program to improve student performance; continuously assess the learning program (including the curriculum), student performance outcomes and school climate; create a culturally responsive learning environment inclusive of diverse socioeconomic and ethnic groups' needs; create and implement staff development activities for the building staff; create a collaborative learning environment; provide instructional leadership; promote high expectations, performance, and achievement from students and staff; promote shared decision making and teamwork; maintain a positive school climate; establish and maintain effective communication with the community, parents, building staff and central office staff; supervise and evaluate assigned staff; manage the maintenance and use of the physical plant to facilitate the educational program; manage the budget activities for the building following District guidelines and procedures; and participate in District-level decision-making and articulation activities.

Required Qualifications:  
 
1. Master's Degree
2. Valid Washington State Principal's Credential for the elementary level or ability to obtain prior to start date.
3. Previous school administration and/or teaching experience.
4.  Knowledge and understanding of the use of an instructional framework to guide instructional practices, including experience with Teacher/Principal Evaluation Program (TPEP).

About the Position
Individuals occupying volunteer coaching positions are responsible for developing fundamental skills and an understanding of the rules of the sport in participants, modeling and fostering cooperation, sportsmanship and ethical behavior.  Coaches determine the system of play to be used and develop and implement best strategies and methods to carry out the system.  They are responsible for maintaining a safe environment for participants, ensuring their eligibility and monitoring their behavior.  Coaches' issue and inventory equipment, maintain financial and other related records, and perform other, related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:  
1. High School Diploma or graduation equivalency diploma (GED).
2. Be at least 21 yrs of age for High School or at least 19 yrs of age for Middle School athletic volunteer positions.

1. perform program planning for physical therapy or appropriate options for each individualized education program (IEP);
2. provide treatment and management of the disability based upon results of evaluation, which may include direct and/or indirect therapy services; 
3. offer consultation and education on formal and informal levels with medical and educational professionals, paraprofessionals, and parents regarding educational programming and disability information. 
4. administer physical therapy services within the educational environment (documentation, record-keeping, equipment, space requirements, supervision of classroom and Physical Therapy Assistants)
5. are responsible for monitoring the proper fit, use, and adjustment of specialized equipment;
6. and conduct research and evaluation for school physical therapy services.     

Required Qualifications:  
Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate Certificate as a Physical Therapist.
Must possess or be willing to obtain a Washington State Physical Therapist license.

About the Position

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Itinerant Support Services, the school psychologist works with students, teachers and families to support students in achieving the fullest potential educational experience from school.  The school psychologist accomplishes this by assessing student skills and by planning and providing academic and social emotional interventions.

Essential Performance Responsibilities
1. Leads multi-disciplinary teams in completing evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services.
2. Conducts comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations of students for the purpose of special education eligibility and/or recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to maximize learning and social emotional skills.
3. Employs a strengths-based approach to writing evaluation reports which meet State timelines and District guidelines.  Reports are written to be easily understood by teachers and families to better support the student’s progress in general education.
4. Conducts counseling activities according to district counseling program requirements and building needs. Activities may include classroom lessons and individual and small group counseling for students who require supplemental support to access and/or make progress in general education.
5. Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff to familiarize stakeholders with psychological services.
6. Serves as a resource and consultant on mental health and conducts in-service programs as requested.
7. Serves as resource to students by providing counseling that will lead each student to increase self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, and social awareness.
8. Continues to acquire professional knowledge of current practices in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, by conducting research, and/or by maintaining professional affiliations.
9. Organizes and maintains a system for accurate management of special education evaluation timelines including initial referrals and triennial evaluations.
10. Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and families.

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Itinerant Support Services.  The above responsibilities are not meant to be all inclusive of every task or responsibility.

1. Knowledge of child psychology principles, assessments methods, behavior modification, etc., and current developments in child psychology, knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning profiles.

About the Position 
This is a .6 FTE leave replacement position for an Occupational Therapist.  It is a non-continuing position beginning as soon as hired through the end of the current 2024-25 school year ONLY.

Edmonds School District Occupational Therapists provide occupational therapy services for children ages 3 through 21 with identified physical disabilities, motor deficits, movement dysfunctions, and/or developmental delays that interfere with learning in the education environment.  As a member of the multidisciplinary educational/assessment team, Occupational Therapists:
1. perform program planning for occupational therapy or appropriate options for each individualized education program (IEP);
2. provide treatment and management of the disability based upon results of evaluation, which may include direct and/or indirect therapy services;  
3. offer consultation and education on formal and informal levels with medical and educational professionals, paraprofessionals, and parents regarding educational programming and disability information;
4. administer occupational therapy services within the educational environment (documentation, record-keeping, equipment, space requirements, supervision of classroom and Occupational Therapy Assistants);
5. are responsible for monitoring the proper fit, use, and adjustment of specialized equipment; and
6. conduct research and evaluation for school occupational therapy services.

Required Qualifications:

About the Position 
Multiple positions are available for a 1.0 FTE continuing contract Dual Language (English/Spanish) Teacher that will begin with the start of the 2025-26 school year.

Working in collaboration with colleagues, the elementary dual language classroom teacher will create a classroom environment that implements a district approved curriculum to ensure an equitable, engaging, and positive learning experience for all dual language students.  Candidates must demonstrate oral, written, and reading Spanish language proficiency either by OSPI bilingual certification or the ACTFL assessment.  The ACTFL assessment will be administered as part of the interview process.

Preference will be given to candidates that currently have an ELL, ESOL, or Bilingual endorsement.  SIOP training and GLAD training offered by the Multilingual Education Department will be required for all new employees unless they can show evidence of having completed SIOP and GLAD training previously.  Training will need to be completed within the first year of employment.

Dual language classrooms are located at four (4) elementaries: College Place, Cedar Valley, Mountlake Terrace, and Spruce.  Six (6) positions will be available in Kindergarten through Grade 4.  Assignments (grade level and location) will be finalized after the interview process. 

Essential Duties:
1. Instructs students using strategies conducive to dual-language immersion, such as sheltered instruction and cooperative learning.
2. Collaborates in a professional learning community with other teachers, support staff, and others as appropriate, in addressing the needs of students, developing effective teaching and learning practices in Spanish and English.
3. Conducts planning for lessons using commonly accepted professional dual language immersion practices (content, goals, assessment, re-teaching, etc.) and consistent with school/district approved curriculum and instructional practice. The teacher uses research-based instructional strategies in planning lessons to make the teaching and learning more relevant to students (e.g., contextual learning opportunities).
4. Utilizes differentiated and sheltered content instructional strategies, and/or English language development strategies to instruct students with varying levels of English language proficiency.
5. Uses a variety of formal and informal learning assessments to monitor student progress toward achievement of the learning objectives and modify instructional methods and materials as needed.
6. Communicates positively and regularly with monolingual English/Spanish and limited English speaking parents and/or legal guardians in the areas of growth, student progress, and teacher expectations; develop meaningful collaboration between home and school.
7. Participates in professional learning opportunities in support of District-wide mission, vision and goals.
8. Demonstrates an awareness of and sensitivity to multicultural and multilingual values and environments.

Required Qualifications:  
Washington State Teaching Certificate with endorsements in either Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education in addition to a Spanish Bilingual Education endorsement or Spanish ACTFL assessment, or the ability to obtain the needed qualifications prior to the position start date.

About the Position
This is an on-call position that fills in for absent employees at one of our 33 schools or other District buildings. The Custodian Substitute is responsible for performing duties and routine manual labor which are necessary to keep facilities in a clean, safe, and healthful condition for students, staff, and community members. Working as a substitute can make you a competitive candidate when regular, full-time positions open!

Essential Functions-
- Completes routine custodial cleaning in accordance with District procedures.  
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums floors and carpets, and polishes floors as necessary. 
- Gathers and disposes of trash and recyclables. Washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers as needed. 
- Cleans, sanitizes, and disinfects restrooms, locker rooms, showers and drinking fountains. Replaces disposable products, such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap. Performs emergency cleaning services.
- Washes windows, walls, and ceilings. Dusts and cleans furniture, blinds and equipment.
- Opens and/or closes buildings. Prepares building for use, including de-icing and cleaning sidewalks. Locks and secures building, including setting alarm at night. 
- Uses power equipment and hand tools such as broom, mop, auto scrubber, carpet extractors, sweeper, vacuums, buffing machine.
- Performs routine maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, washing exterior windows, and refinishing floors as required. 
- Assist staff or outside groups using the building for programs, special events or assemblies.  Set up and tear down tables and chairs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools and equipment used in janitorial care.
- Skill in efficiently and safely operating cleaning equipment and hand tools.  
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Work cooperatively with school principal, staff, community members and students.
- Ability to organize work and ensure tasks are completed on time.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous work experience as a custodian or other job-related experience is desired.  

Working Conditions
Work is generally performed indoors, some work is performed outdoors during all seasons.  Work involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which requires basic safety precautions. 

Physical Demands
Physical stamina necessary to complete assigned duties.  Ability to stand for prolonged periods, walk long distances, bend, stoop, and twist frequently.  Requires frequent heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 50 lbs.  Occasionally lift or move 75-100 lbs. About the Position
This is an IN PERSON on-call position that fills in for absent employees at one of our 34 schools. You should be willing to work In Person, directly with students and faculty.

The Substitute Paraeducator works collaboratively with certificated staff in classrooms or other learning environments, assists with a variety of instructional support and supervision duties of students; prepares educational materials; monitors students' progress, behavior, and safety and shares observations with teacher and other professional staff.  This position adapts instruction for academic areas, as assigned; models expected classroom behaviors; supervises recess and lunch periods, field trips, locker rooms, study and detention rooms, health room; students' arrival and departures, and transitions within the school setting.  The Substitute Paraeducator works 1:1 with individuals and/or groups of students; may apply de-escalation techniques; assists with required record-keeping; takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.  The Substitute Paraeducator performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or recognized equivalent; AND must meet one of the following ESEA standards for paraeducators:
1. Hold an AA degree or higher; or
2. Have completed two years of college education (72 quarter hours or 48 semester hours at 100 level or above); or
3. Successfully passed the ETS Parapro Assessment for WA State (Score of 455 or higher)

Human Resources may waive above requirements on a case by case basis for non-Title I funded elementary schools. 

Salary:  23/24 school year rates - $20.85 to $24.00 per hour depending on assignment type
