About the Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated science teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging and rigorous lesson plans that align with Ohio's Learning Standards and prepare students for success in science and beyond. This position will primarily focus on teaching Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Anatomy & Physiology but may also involve teaching other elective courses depending on departmental needs.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans that adhere to Ohio's Learning Standards and promote scientific literacy.
Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including hands-on activities, laboratory experiments, technology integration, and differentiated instruction, to cater to diverse learners.
Assess student learning through various methods, including formative and summative assessments, and provide actionable feedback to help students improve.
Maintain a safe and positive learning environment that fosters student engagement, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, share best practices, and ensure a cohesive learning experience for all students.
Stay up-to-date on current trends and advancements in education and integrate them into the curriculum.
Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching skills and knowledge.
Maintain accurate and complete student records.
Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field, with a focus in the specific science area being taught (preferred).
Valid Ohio Teaching License in Science (or the ability to obtain one).
Minimum of two years of successful teaching experience at the high school level (preferred).
Strong knowledge of scientific concepts and principles.
Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to diverse learners.
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to use technology effectively to enhance instruction and student learning.
