Credentials:
Combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed below;
Minimum of one year experience in a commercial kitchen, knowledge of Child Nutrition, and knowledge of food safety with ServSafe Manager Level/ODH Manager Certification in Food Protection preferred;
High School Diploma or Graduate Equivalency Degree (GED);
Such alternatives to the above as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assists with food preparation, such as washes fruits and vegetables, prepares soups, salads and main dishes, mixes salad dressings, places food in oven, sets proper temperature and removes food from oven, and other related duties;
- Assists with preparation of serving line, that is places napkins, plates, silverware and condiments on line, and other tasks; serves controlled portions to students, employees and visitor;
- Collects and disposes of garbage; cleans serving line equipment; cleans refrigerator, stoves, ovens, and counters; washes dishes, pots, pans, and other cleaning utensils; inspects dishes and silverware to ensure cleanliness;
- Replenish snack bar items and shelves; receive and store merchandise;
- May substitute for the head cook in his/her absence.
OAPSE Classified Position starting Salary Range: $21.62p/hour (no experience) up to $23.24 (with verifiable and related experience).
Work week and hours per day: Monday through Friday; 10:00am to 1:00pm, approximately 180 work days, and 8 paid holidays.
