• Works collaboratively with district administrators, educational staff, parents and community partners to coordinate, provide and continuously improve special education programs.

• Collaborates with educational teams to modify the curriculum as necessary and to assist with research-based and evidence- based interventions to address academic, adaptive, social-emotional and behavior needs of students.
• Plans, organizes and conducts comprehensive professional development opportunities and participates in professional growth opportunities.
• Ensures paperwork is accurate, all timelines and deadlines are met (annual reviews, progress reports, etc.) and assists with the collection of student and staff data for educational management information (EMIS) reporting and deadlines.
• Complies with Federal and state laws, model policies and procedures, rules and regulations for the education of students with disabilities. • Coordinates and monitors programs/services to ensure compliance with Federal and state law, state learning standards/extended standards, monitors graduation requirements and oversees state and local testing requirements.
• Partners with school districts to coordinate the transition process for students entering or leaving the program, participates in parent meetings, serves as district representative when directed.
• Incorporates and promotes instructional, assistive and other types of technology; and upholds the acceptable use policy.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Support the Director and Assistant Director in developing and monitoring ongoing progress and improvement efforts with regional needs assessment, regional service plan, service delivery agreements, and quarterly progress reports.
2. Develop and coordinate professional development on emerging needs of the districts resulting from processes, procedures, and policies issued by DEW relative to LEA improvement efforts.
3. Review current research, literature, and technical resources of information related to job responsibilities.
4. Attend professional development aligned with the scope of the work including opportunities to build knowledge regarding a broad range of data and reports resulting from Ohio’s accountability system and educator effectiveness programs to stay current on educational practices, resources, and legal issues.
5. Assist the Director and Assistant Director in fostering a culture of data reliance by promoting a consistent understanding of education data throughout our internal team and LEA partners.
6. Participate as a member of the SST11 interview committee which includes screening, interviewing, and rating potential candidates.
7. Coordinates professional development activities integrated across the various work scopes of the SST, aligned to the grant agreement.
8. Assists with special projects as directed.  May work with Director to establish schedules and assign special project work to staff members.
9. Cross-trains with other staff as directed and offers assistance when needed.
10. Collaborate with educational leaders and partners to promote a continuous improvement process at the local, regional, and state levels.
11. Performs duties to facilitate effective operations. Uses independent judgment and takes the initiative to perform tasks.
12.  Identifies and implements procedures that improve productivity.
13.  Oversees human resource activities for assigned staff, as directed by Director (e.g., leave notices, attendance, completion of performance evaluations, etc.)
14. Takes precautions to ensure staff safety. Watches for behavior that may indicate a problem. Works with staff to eliminate unacceptable behavior.
15. Meets the qualification to provide the school improvement services outlined in Ohio’s Strategic Priorities for Education, Ohio’s Consolidated ESSA Plan, Ohio’s Plan to Raise Literacy Achievement, Ohio’s Dyslexia Guidebook, Ohio’s State Systemic Improvement Plan, Ohi’s Plan to Improve Educational Experiences and Outcomes for Students with Disabilities, 11 District Improvement Plan, Ohio Materials Matters and implementation of the grant activities outlined in the grant agreement.
16. Serve as SST Consultant and have a general awareness and understanding of all aspects of SST work with the goal of collaboration and integration of work across all areas of focused support provided to school personnel and families in support of improved learning and outcomes.

Our students need YOU!  Apply to be a part of our program and help students develop critical skills that they need to be successful. 
This is a 900 hour service position with AmeriCorps, requiring 30 hours per week for 9 months.  Hours are mostly during the school day, approximately 9am-3pm Monday-Friday.
After attending a series of trainings, Members will provide elementary literacy tutoring, elementary math tutoring, or middle/high school mentoring services in small groups, or one-on-one. Each person is assigned to one school, where they will tutor a set group of students each day. 
Members will receive a stipend payment of $1,350 per month, plus an Education Award of up to $3,447.50 (see below for details). 

The Ohio Reading Corps is an AmeriCorps program with 100 members across Ohio aimed at improving reading, math, and social-emotional skills of students in grades K - 12.  Placements in schools will be made according to the applicant’s geographic location, preference, and district needs.
*Must commit to minimum of 900 hours of service, which must be completed by May 31, 2025.

Job Objectives:
The Registered Behavior (RBT) will support program staff (teachers and paraprofessionals) in the application of applied behavior analytics for student educational programming. The RBT will assist with implementation of the behavior plans developed by building teachers and by the assigned Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The RBT will be closely supervised by the BCBA.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma
• Valid Ohio Department of Education Permit appropriate for the position.
• Successful completion and maintenance of RBT certificate.
• Documentation of a clear criminal record in compliance with state statue.
• Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
• Self-directed and able to learn required skills for the position
• Ability to physically manage students with disabilities
• Ability to cope with stressful traffic, weather conditions, and passenger distractions.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
The following duties are representative of performance expectations; however, the list below is not ranked in order of importance.
• Applies learned principles of applied behavior analysis to the development and support of student behavior plans.
• Models best practices to refine evidence - based strategies and interventions for ongoing behavior plans and supports building staff efforts to implement student plans.
• Provides professional development for certified and classified staff members
• Promotes a favorable image of the service center. Supports community/school partnerships that enhance the service center's operational effectiveness.
• Supports an inclusive education in the least restrictive environment.
• Collects data to support student behavior plan implementation.
• Respects personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.
• Accepts personal responsibility for decisions and conduct.
• Wears appropriate work attire and maintains a professional demeanor.
• Strives to develop rapport and serves as a positive role model for others.
• Performs other specific job-related duties as directed by the Superintendent or designee
Conduct:
Each staff member shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment with the ESC.
 
Terms of Employment:
Each staff member shall serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.  Each staff member has a legal responsibility to help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
 
It is the employee’s responsibility to maintain proper certification/licensure and to initiate the renewal process in sufficient time to receive the updated certificate/license prior to the expiration of the present certificate/license.
