PURPOSE: Coordinate and manage building health services and the district’s comprehensive school health program to promote the health and wellness of students and staff. Duties are performed in accordance with professional school nursing standards, the Illinois Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing Act, and district, state, and national policies and regulations.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1. Provide professional nursing services, including first aid, illness, and emergency care for students and staff, ensuring compliance with state laws and district protocols, as directed by administration.
2. Conduct Medical Necessity Reviews for students with IEPs and known or suspected medical conditions.
3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify, evaluate, and support students with health-related needs, contributing to IEP/504 plans and educational modifications as appropriate.
4. Develop, implement, and maintain individualized health care plans (IHPs) and emergency care plans for students with special needs, including those incorporated into IEPs or 504 Plans.
5. Assess and address student health and safety issues, including abuse and neglect, as a mandated reporter.
6. Establish district protocols to monitor effectiveness and documentation.
7. Oversee district state reporting in IWAS for the Health Services Department
8. Conduct state and federally mandated health screenings (e.g., vision, hearing, growth, and development), and provide follow-up care or referrals as necessary.
9. Maintain accurate and confidential student health records, including immunization compliance, physical exams, and medical histories.
10. Maintain the Health Services section of the district website.
11. Plan and implement school immunization and stock undesignated medication programs in collaboration with local healthcare providers.
12. Manage communicable disease protocols, including clearance for reentry to school.
13. Train and orient health services and administrative staff on health-related topics, including, specific student care procedures, state reporting, communicable disease protocols and communication.  
14. Act as a liaison between the school, families, healthcare providers, and community agencies to promote health and wellness.
15. Provide health education and anticipatory guidance to students, staff, and parents on topics promoting a healthy lifestyle.
16. Maintain and monitor clinic equipment and supplies, preparing annual orders as needed.
17. Participate in crisis intervention, providing emotional support and counseling during traumatic events or emergencies.
18. Assist students with special education needs in adjusting to physical, emotional, or health limitations.
19. Coordinate compliance with communicable disease regulations and submit required health reports to the health department.
20. Maintain communication with school personnel, parents, and administrators to address student health and safety needs.
21. Participate as a member of the crisis response team, offering intervention during emergencies or school-wide crises, as needed.

PURPOSE: The Occupational Therapist plays a key role in supporting students' educational success by evaluating their eligibility for Occupational Therapy (OT) services, developing and implementing treatment programs in collaboration with parents and school staff, and ensuring compliance with District and AOTA guidelines through accurate record-keeping. This role involves providing therapy in a supportive and accessible environment to enhance students' functional skills and maximize their educational potential.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1. Evaluate students to determine eligibility for OT services, including assessing performance and skill levels in the educational environment using standardized tests when appropriate.
2. Develop, coordinate, and implement individualized therapy (504 and IEP) plans in collaboration with parents, teachers, and school staff, incorporating school and class schedules. Communicate therapy schedules to teachers and support staff.
3. Collaborate with the pre-school team to update Early Childhood Outcomes throughout the year.
4. Establish and deliver therapy using various treatment modalities, such as developmental approaches, environmental modifications, sensory integration, and behavioral interventions, tailored to the student’s needs.
5. Present therapeutic interventions effectively and engagingly, utilizing diverse materials, creative approaches, and technology as needed.
6. Adjust therapy strategies and procedures to address the unique needs of each student and their educational goals.
7. Participate in Problem-Solving Team Meetings, annual reviews, IEP meetings, evaluation meetings, and team planning conferences to develop integrated therapy goals within the educational plan.
8. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student assessments, therapy progress, and IEP goals, adhering to District 41, state and federal guidelines.
9. Maintain records of referred, screened, and eligible students.
10. Consult and communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and staff, both individually and in meetings. Train paraprofessionals and teachers in therapeutic techniques for use in the classroom and school environment.

PURPOSE: The school psychologist supports students by addressing challenges and creating systems, programs, and services that enhance their social, emotional, and academic development both now and in the future. Acting as a catalyst for positive change, the school psychologist works collaboratively with individuals, families, schools, and communities to foster effective learning environments.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1. Conduct case study evaluations, including classroom observations, teacher interviews, student interviews, and one-to-one assessments in cognitive, academic, functional, social-emotional, and fine motor domains.
2. Analyze and synthesize evaluation data to complete mandated documents and psychoeducational reports.
3. Review student records and private evaluations to ensure comprehensive understanding and consider recommendations.
4. Guide parents/guardians through evaluation and intervention processes.
5. Coordinate all initial and triennial  evaluation components, ensuring compliance with legal timelines.
6. Attend multidisciplinary conferences (MDCs) to discuss findings and lead the discussions regarding determining eligibility.
7. Conduct functional behavior assessments and assist in developing Behavior Intervention Plans.
8. Provide verbal and written reports for evaluations and complete the IEP evaluation documentation, including drafts home to families/guardians three school days before eligibility meetings.
9. Participate in IEP meetings to collaborate on accommodations, modifications goals, services, and programming needs.
10. Support IEP teams in problem-solving, goal writing, behavior supports, and progress monitoring.
11. Provide direct services to students and consult with teams regarding interventions and data collection methods.
12. Consult and collaborate with teachers to address student concerns and develop data-driven interventions.
13. Maintain, review, and analyze school data (academic, emotional, and behavioral) for all students including district administred screenings and assessments.
14. Coach teachers on data collection, analysis, and effective intervention techniques.
15. Conduct classwide instruction on social, emotional, and behavioral skills, as needed.
16. Co-facilitate with administration the MTSS process by preparing and reviewing data summaries, maintaining tracking sheets, notifying team members, co-facilitating problem-solving meetings, discussing data trends and interventions, recording service details, and guiding discussions on additional support at Tier 2 and Tier 3 levels.
17. Write goals, review progress, and guide teams on tiered instruction and case study processes.
18. Provide individual and group counseling to students as part of interventions.
19. Keep thorough records for all students receiving therapy and students’ temporary records at the district and school offices.
20. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student assessments, therapy progress, and IEP goals, adhering to District 41, state and federal guidelines.
21. Respond formally to parental/guardian requests for special education and 504 eligibility evaluations within state and federal identified timelines. 
22. Maintain records of referred, screened, and eligible students.
23. Collaborate with outside evaluators, specialists, and agencies.
24. Conduct Risk/Threat assessments and provide follow-up support if needed.
25. Offer support to staff, students, and parents in response to national, community, or school crises.
26. Provide resources and consultation to address student concerns in school and at home.
27. Provide direct and indirect services for crisis prevention and intervention.
28. Stay informed on best practices through workshops, professional publications, and collaboration with colleagues.
29. Offer in-service training to staff on relevant topics, including behavior management and interventions.
30. Work collaboratively in alignment with District 41 programming and demonstrate a cooperative work spirit.
31. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the administration.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:  
 
• Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents; skill in oral and written communication. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 182 Days. Salary to be established by the Board of Education.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1. Support a positive school climate aligned with the district’s Strategic Plan.
2. Collaborate with school personnel regarding students requiring specialized interventions.
3. Collaborate with staff and paraprofessionals to meet the needs of students with special needs.
4. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
5. Maintain accurate records of student progress, related service logs  and medicaid billing.
6. Communicate regularly with parents and school staff about students’ progress.
7. Provide direct support to students facing personal, behavioral, social, or emotional challenges impacting their education.
8. Attend and actively participates in team, IEP, and annual review meetings.
9. Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and collaborate in the development of Behvaior Intervention Plans.
10. Assist in data collection and implementation of supplemental services.
11. Work with school personnel in identifying and supporting students with specialized needs including leading/particapting in individual problem solving team meetings.
12. Participate in school and district-wide initiatives to promote a supportive school environment.
13. Consult with classroom teachers and other school staff as needed.
14. Complete social developmental studies and special education/504 evaluations.
15. Provide social/emotional learning instruction and in-service to school staff, parents, and the community as needed.
16. Lead, monitor and/or assist during situations involving aggressive or uncontrolled behavior of identified students, following district approved de-escalation and physical restraint techniques and procedures. Lead debiefing process, gather input, and data collection as needed after behavioral incidents including  completing necessary paperwork. 17. Maintain district approved de-escalation and physical restraint techniques certification.
18. Offer support and intervention to parents expierencing crisises/emergencies by helping them understand and navigate available resources.
19. Serve as a liaison between home, school, and the community to enhance student services.
20. Performs threat/risk assessments to evaluate potential risks and develop safety plans.
21. Perform MTSS Roles and Responsibilities asidentified in the district’s MTSS guidelines
