Thank you for your interest in being a Substitue Nurse in the Catholic Diocese of Wichita. 
 
 
Substitute nurses are required to complete VIRTUS training.  VIRTUS is our diocesan effort to train employees to protect children from abuse.  Registration is available at www.virtus.org . 
 
Once your application is on file, your name will be available to the principals of the schools. You will be contacted by the schools, not by the Catholic School Office. Each school is operated by the parish; therefore you will be paid by that parish. Questions about the amount of pay and when payroll is issued may vary and should be directed to each school.

Many, but not all, of our schools in the Wichita area use Frontline Absence Management.  After your application is accepted you may receive an email inviting you to set up an account on Frontline Education - Absence Management.

In addition to complteing the application, please upload a copy of your Emergency Substitute Licesne or Kansas state teaching license.  Also, a current TB test (within the last year) is required.

Your application will be kept active for one hiring year.  Please contact our office and submit a current license if you would like your application reactivated for the following hiring year.
 
Before you return your application, make copies for your own use. You may send a copy of your completed application directly to a school or schools near where you live with a letter of introduction. The principal may request your complete file from our office at any time.

Procedure:
• When applying to be a substitute teacher on the Catholic Diocese of Wichita website https://www.applitrack.com/dioceseofwichita/onlineapp/ you will complete the application and submit.  Upon notification of your application the Catholic School Office will send you the required forms needed and input your information into Frontline Absence Management.  You will receive an email to set up your Frontline account on your desktop and/or mobile application.  Your application will be visible to all schools.
• Once your Frontline account is created you will start receiving phone calls and/or emails about open substitute positions.
• Each school is operated by the parish: therefore you will be paid by that parish/school. Questions about the amount of pay and when payroll is issued may vary and should be directed to each school.
• Most (not all) of our schools in the Wichita and surrounding areas use Frontline Absence Management.
