Position Purpose:
Our school is looking to hire a new school cook who will be responsible for preparing awesome
dishes for our students.

Essential Functions:
Duties will include prepping meals by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, cooking meals,
and checking ingredients for freshness.

Note: 
Prior experience in a related position is an advantage, however not required. Training classes and hours will
be available.

Basic mathematical skills.

Position Status:           Part-time; 20 hours/week
 
Position Summary:   The School Food Service Aide works under the immediate supervision of the Food Service Director (FSD)or Kitchen Manager (KM). The general duties and responsibilities of the Food Service Aide is to perform daily tasks in the preparation and serving of food and in cleaning and maintaining food service areas.
 
Essential Job Functions: Principle Duties and Responsibilities  
• Cooperate with the FSD or KM to provide a positive and inviting dining experience for students, parents, and faculty.
• Be responsible for food preparation by chopping, washing, cutting, assembling, sorting, counting and mixing ingredients/food items.
• Be responsible for the serving of food during the serving periods.
• Be responsible for cleaning equipment, storage, and work areas during the total work day.
• Be responsible for the proper storage of food.
• Be responsible for washing dishes and utensils.
• Operate mechanical kitchen equipment safely.
• Follow work schedules as assigned by the FSD or KM.
• Practice acceptable health and work habits.
• Participate in activities that will promote the school food service program.
• Participate in professional development training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:


Education/Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the School Office (after employment offer is made)
• Valid Food Handler’s card
• Completion of food preparation classes, as required.
• Has fulfilled the requirements of all diocesan policies on suspected abuse of children.

Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the building Principal, to assist in maintaining an orderly and safe atmosphere in the cafeteria, on the playground, and in other designated locations by helping and supervising students at mealtime and playtime in accordance with Board policy and established district procedures.

Essential Functions:
• Assists in supervising students in the cafeteria during mealtime.
• Assists in making sure that tables and surrounding areas are clean.
• Assists in supervising the playground/classroom during the lunch hour.
• Assists students with orderly food purchases, distribution of food, disposal of food waste, and return of trays and utensils.
• Ensures that students remain seated in assigned areas throughout their time in the cafeteria.
• Circulates among assigned tables during the mealtime to be available as needed.
• Organizes groups of students for orderly dismissal from the cafeteria.
• Assists with supervising students in libraries, and escorting students to and from school buses.
• Reports to teachers, principal, nurse and/or security personnel as appropriate regarding infractions, safety concerns, injuries, or other issues involving students.
 
Additional Duties
• May distribute textbooks, supplies or other materials as requested.
• May collect count and deposit food services program monies.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned.

The lunch coordinator’s primary function is to supervise the students in the cafeteria, while mainting a safe and fun environment.. Following the lunch period, the lunch coordinator will clean up the cafeteria including assisting students with disposing of lunches, wiping down tables, and sweeping the floors. After the lunch period, the supervisor ensures the cafeteria is prepared for breakfast/lunch the following day.

The lunch coordinator works under direct supervision of the principal. The responsibilities are performed in a Catholic school building environment and include use of cleaning substances.
