Reports To: High School Principal
Job Goal: Assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the High School Office and maintain the accounts in the Activities Account ledger in an orderly fashion.

Performance Responsibilities:
Telephone Duties
1. Taking and delivering messages to teachers, students, and staff.
2. Transferring calls.
3. Screening calls for the administration.
4. Send fax messages for the administration.

Secretarial Duties
1. Typing for the Principal which includes; letters, memos, envelopes, purchase orders, monthly
enrollment report, year-end reports, and other documents as needed, this includes: all discipline letters.
2. Keep an up to date list for each class, freshman through senior.
3. Process student work permits and good student insurance forms.
4. Keep a record and do paperwork for teacher subs and give to the bookkeeper.
5. Register all new high school students to the district.
6. Keep an up to date locker list for each class, freshman through senior; reassign new lockers
the beginning of each school year.
7. Process transcript requests for guidance counselor, students and parents when needed.
8. Copy student records when student is transferring to another district; send to the new school.
9. Order graduation diplomas, programs and tickets for current graduating class. Work with
class advisor and principal to update program information when needed.
10. Transfer senior records to storage in June of current school year; file incoming freshman
records.
11.  Assist in Special Event planning, including preperation of programs/certificates for the events. 

Bookkeeping Duties
1. Counting and depositing money in the various activities accounts.
2. Maintaining an accurate account of each activity account.
3. Reconcile bank statements for activity account on a monthly basis.
4. Write checks for all activity accounts.
5. Take all deposits to the bank at the end of each day and pick up the empty bags at the bank
each morning.
6. Prepare reports for the Board of Education and the Administration on a monthly basis.
7. Prepare money boxes for games and other student activities when needed.

Miscellaneous Duties
1. Do copying for teachers in an emergency.
2. Write admits and tardy slips when needed.
3. Do attendance tracking when needed.
4. Provide basic first aid for minor injuries; take temperatures for ill students on a daily basis,
contact parents if necessary; administer medication to students on a daily basis.
5. Assist in the registration process.
6. Other duties as assigned by the Principal.
7. Process homework requests when needed.
8. Help with teacher and school mailings when needed.
9. Maintain accident reports, teacher superforms

Starting Pay:  $17.91/hour
Work Calendar:  222 days

Somonauk CUSD 432 is seeking special education teachers to serve the needs of students with learning disabilities at Somonauk High School.
 
• The teacher will serve primarily as a co-teacher in the general education English classes, with some instructional (pull-out) classes, as determined by student need. 
• The teacher will also serve as the case manager for all students with IEPs as assigned grade level. 
• The teacher will schedule and oversee paraprofessionals to provide the appropriate level of support for students on the caseload. 
 
PEL license required with LBS1 endorsement.

Salary based on the SEA & BOE Negotiated Agreement Salary Schedule.
