As a PLTW Teacher, you will lead the charge in bringing high-energy, inquiry-based learning experiences to life. You’ll guide students through engaging, project-based lessons that integrate science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to foster critical thinking, teamwork, and perseverance. Your innovative approach will help students develop the skills they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a robust PLTW curriculum in subjects such as Engineering, Biomedical Science, and Computer Science, tailored to ignite student curiosity and passion.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and safe learning environment where students are encouraged to explore their creativity and solve complex, real-world problems.
- Integrate technology and hands-on projects into daily lessons, using tools like CAD software, 3D printers, and robotics to engage students in STEM concepts.
- Cultivate an atmosphere of growth mindset, motivating students to take ownership of their learning and think critically about the challenges they face.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to enhance cross-curricular connections and promote interdisciplinary learning.
- Track student progress and provide regular feedback to ensure their continued development, while celebrating their successes and encouraging them to reach higher.
- Actively engage with families and the community to highlight student achievements and foster external partnerships that bring STEM learning to life.
Qualifications:
- A passion for STEM education and a desire to inspire the next generation of innovators.
- Certified in relevant teaching area(s), or willing to obtain certification.
- Experience with Project Lead the Way curriculum or other hands-on STEM programs is a plus.
- Ability to engage students in a dynamic and interactive classroom environment.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
